Warningcamp: your questions answered

Do you work overnight in Warningcamp?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. The work in Warningcamp can fit around your hours. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.

Which council inspects kitchens in Warningcamp?

The local authority for Warningcamp is Arun council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. How often a business is inspected depends on the council’s risk rating for it, so the kitchen needs to be ready at any time.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and leave the area clean.

Do you recommend a next date?

Yes. We put a recommended next date on the report. For kitchen extracts, BESA’s minimum intervals run from every 3 months for heavy use to every 12 months for light use, and fire dampers need testing at least once a year.

Will we have to shut during the visit?

Normally not. Booking the work out of hours means the site can carry on as normal. Larger jobs can be phased over several visits to keep things running.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line, for problems that can’t wait. Ring any time and tell us what’s happened.

Can you give me a price for grease trap cleaning?

Trap size, type, condition and access all affect the price. Tell us about the trap and we will give you a fixed quote.

What if parts of the system can’t be reached?

They’re listed in the report, never skipped quietly. You’ll know exactly which parts weren’t reached and why, along with a quote to put access in.

Grease trap cleaning in Warningcamp, done properly

In Warningcamp, we time grease trap visits so the sinks are not needed. The trap is emptied, cleaned and checked and remove the waste. It works on its own or with a deep clean or extract clean. If you are dealing with a full, neglected grease trap and a kitchen drain that smells, we can help, from pot wash sinks, school and care home kitchens and kitchen waste pipes onwards.

In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, so keeping fat out with a working grease trap matters even more.

Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. That’s why every job is written up in a report with photos, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

How we price grease trap cleaning

The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • What state the system is in
  • Whether we need access equipment or extra panels

Working hours, access and the scale of the site can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before we start.

Helping us quote

What to send for a quote:

  • When the site is open and when it’s quiet
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • A few general shots of the system
  • How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room

Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before work begins.

Keeping the system healthy

How long the results last depends on use and care. We suggest:

  • Let us know if the kitchen gets busier
  • Do not wait for a blockage to book a clean
  • Act on gurgling or smelly drains
  • Make sure the trap can be reached easily

Collect waste cooking oil separately rather than pouring it down the sink and the trap will not fill as quickly. It makes a real difference.

An overfull trap lets grease pass. Cleaning it before it’s full keeps grease out of the drains and avoids a blockage.

What staff can safely do

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and tidy surfaces slow the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Staff cleaning and specialist work aren’t the same thing. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.

Why act early in Warningcamp

Smells from a neglected trap are hard to ignore. Rotting food and grease give off foul odours and the smell carries. Cleaning it removes the cause. A fault that closes a site in a village like Warningcamp affects everyone who depends on it.

Putting the work off seldom saves money. Build-up, wear and faults tend to get worse, not better, which can make the next visit longer. If you are not sure what’s needed, call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form for straight advice and a fixed quote.

Why book with us

  • Full insurance on every job
  • Work around your opening hours, with 24/7 emergency cover
  • Fixed quotes, usually within one working day
  • One number for every site across the South East and London

When something else is needed

Before you book, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Grease deep in the drains, which needs jetting by a drainage contractor
  • A grease trap that’s too small for the kitchen
  • Sewer problems outside the premises

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will tell you honestly.

What the work covers

  • Restaurants and takeaways
  • Inline grease traps
  • School and care home kitchens
  • Pot wash sinks
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes

The process

We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before we start, and the area around the work is covered and protected. On site, it takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. In a small place like Warningcamp, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.

  1. We find the trap and check how it’s connected.
  2. The sinks feeding the trap are kept out of use while we work.
  3. Built-up fat, oil and grease is removed from the trap.
  4. Every part of the trap is scraped and cleaned, including the baffles.
  5. We put it back together, run water through and remove the waste.

Preparing for the visit

  • Find the previous report, if there is one
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
