Grease trap cleaning for kitchens and businesses in The Village
Think of the grease trap as a filter for the kitchen’s drains. Kept clean, it does its job quietly but left too long, it causes trouble. A regular clean keeps it healthy. Typical jobs include washing-up water that won’t drain away and a grease trap that hasn’t been emptied in a long time, on under-sink grease traps, kitchen waste pipes and pot wash sinks.
Rural kitchens may drain to a septic tank or a private drain rather than straight into a public sewer, so keeping fat out with a working grease trap matters even more.
We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

What we’re called out for in The Village
Food waste slips past sink strainers or gets rinsed down. It settles in the trap as solids and takes up space.
These are the problems we see most often:
- An under-sink trap that keeps filling up
- Washing-up water that won’t drain away
- Gurgling from the sink waste
- A bad smell from the sinks or drains
King Edward VII Hospital, about 2.3 miles north-east, is the nearest hospital to The Village; healthcare kitchens cannot stop cooking, so deep cleans are worked around meal times.
Questions to ask before you book

- Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
- What records you’ll receive afterwards

Questions from The Village
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in The Village?
In The Village, it’s Windsor and Maidenhead council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Photos from a deep clean are a simple record of what was done and when.
Can school kitchens in The Village be cleaned in the holidays?
Yes. Half-terms and the summer break are the natural time for school work. There are about 2 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of The Village. Just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with your term dates and we’ll plan around them.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. Every job is surveyed first, from your pictures and details, or with a visit where needed. A fixed quote follows.
What’s TR19?
TR19® is the BESA specification for keeping ventilation systems clean. TR19® Grease, a standalone specification since 2019, covers grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.
What happens to the waste?
Anything we remove is contained as we work and taken away with us, including grease, debris and dirty water. We don’t leave it behind.
Which sectors do you work in?
All kinds of commercial and public premises: from restaurants, pubs and hotels to schools, hospitals, care homes, offices, shops and food production sites. Work is timed around how each site runs.
How long will the sinks be out of use?
Each trap is a little different, but a clean generally takes a short visit for a small trap and longer for an inline unit or interceptor. We’ll confirm when we quote.
Which grease traps does the service cover?
Under-sink units, inline traps and interceptors are all covered. Let us know what’s fitted and we’ll plan the visit.
For landlords and multi-site operators
We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across Windsor and Maidenhead. Work can be phased by floor, building or site to keep disruption down.
What we do, step by step
There are three stages on the day: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Getting ready means protecting surfaces and switching off what needs to be off, and the sign-off is a written report with photos. The middle part takes longest, and that takes less than an hour for many under-sink units. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to The Village.
- We locate the trap and check how it’s fitted.
- Sinks feeding the trap are taken out of use.
- Grease and solids are removed from the trap.
- The chambers and baffles are cleaned.
- We refit it, run water through and remove the waste.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Clear the space around the work
- Mention any parking or loading restrictions
Ask for a quote
Some systems can be priced from photos; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work starts.

What affects the quote in The Village
The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- What state the system is in
- The times the site is available
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- How easy every part is to reach
One small site or a whole estate, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and when. The price is fixed before we start.
Asking for a quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to have:
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
- A few general shots of the system
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
Every quote begins with a look at the system, either from photos and details you send or from a site visit. After that, you get a fixed price for the work, before work begins.

Every site is different, so we price each one individually. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.

Commercial kitchens in The Village
Food hygiene inspections in The Village are the job of Windsor and Maidenhead council’s environmental health team. The state of floors, drains and hard-to-reach corners all feeds into the inspection. Photos and dates from each deep clean make a useful record. The Village is about 24 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. A survey and a fixed quote come first, then the visit at a time that suits you.
St Leonard's Hill, about 1.7 miles north, is one of the historic houses around The Village; event kitchens at places like that work in bursts, so a deep clean after a busy season helps. For schools such as Windsor Girls' School, deep cleans and grease trap work are usually booked for the holidays.
The Village is about 2 miles south of Windsor, in Windsor and Maidenhead. What’s near The Village
We work in commercial kitchens and buildings around Windsor Great Park. The closest station to The Village is Windsor & Eton Central station, about 3 miles north-east of the centre. A little further out are Windsor Castle (3.1 miles north-east) and King Edward VII Hospital (2.3 miles north-east). For a walk, there’s Bray Pit and Virginia Water Lake.
What staff can safely do
If your staff spot something between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We will take a look and send you a fixed quote.
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
When something else is needed
In fairness, there are a few things this work won’t fix:
- Drains that need jetting rather than trap cleaning
- Plumbing leaks around the sink
- Collapsed or damaged drains, which need a drainage contractor
If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we’ll say what we think before you book.
