Common questions in Lymore

Will you come out to Lymore?

Yes. Lymore is within the area we cover across London and the South East. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.

Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Lymore?

Kitchens in Lymore are inspected by New Forest council’s environmental health officers. Keep the dates of your last deep clean and grease trap visit with your food safety records, ready if an officer asks.

Which sectors do you work in?

All kinds of commercial and public premises: kitchens, offices, schools, healthcare, retail, leisure and food production. We fit the work around how the site operates.

Where does the grease from the trap go?

The fat, oil, grease and solids we remove go with us. None of it goes back into the drains, of course.

What types of grease trap do you clean?

We clean all the common types. A photo helps us see what’s fitted when you ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

How long will the sinks be out of use?

Typically, it takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. Bigger or overdue traps need more time, and we will tell you in advance.

What do you do to protect the area?

By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and leave the area clean.

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7, for problems that can’t wait. Call us any time and explain what’s happened.

Grease trap cleaning in Lymore, done properly

Every trap is different. Under-sink units are small and fill quickly, while inline traps and interceptors hold more. We assess the trap and how fast it fills before suggesting how often it needs cleaning. If you’re dealing with grease setting in the kitchen pipework and a small trap that fills too quickly, we can help, from school and care home kitchens, restaurants and takeaways and inline grease traps onwards.

In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, so keeping fat out with a working grease trap matters even more.

We have been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

What grease trap cleaning looks like in Lymore

The Food Standards Agency lists about 8 pubs and bars and about 3 hotels and B&Bs as registered food businesses within about 1.5 miles of central Lymore. Where they run a kitchen, it needs the same deep cleaning and grease trap care as any restaurant. In Lymore, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from New Forest council. They look at the cleanliness of the whole kitchen: walls, floors, ceilings and equipment. A cleaning log that includes deep cleans and grease trap visits shows the work is planned.

Where a church or community hall near Church of All Saints, or anywhere in Lymore, has a kitchen used by volunteers, a periodic deep clean keeps it ready for the next event. Half-term is a good time for school kitchens, at schools like Milford-on-Sea Church of England Primary School for instance, to have the grease trap emptied and the kitchen deep cleaned.

Between visits

Once we’ve finished, these simple steps help:

  • Book trap cleans at a set interval
  • Tell us if your menu or hours change
  • Keep strainers in every sink
  • Do not rely on hot water to clear grease

The waste we remove leaves with us. There’s no greasy waste left on site after the visit.

Slow sinks and a bad smell are early warnings. Getting it cleaned now can stop a full blockage down the line.

When to call us in Lymore

A full trap cannot hold any more grease. It goes on into the drain and on towards the sewer, where it can form blockages.

Any of these means the system needs a check-up:

  • An overdue grease trap
  • A larger grease trap that needs emptying
  • A kitchen drain that smells
  • Drains that gurgle and bubble

If you run a care home or healthcare kitchen near Lymore (the nearest hospital is Lymington New Forest Hospital, about 2.9 miles north-east), a grease trap on a set schedule avoids a blocked drain mid-service.

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether a survey comes first
  • Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
  • Proof of insurance
  • Whether the figure could change on the day

Our hiring checklist

Honest limits

We’ll always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work cannot put right:

  • Plumbing leaks around the sink
  • Grease deep in the drains, which needs jetting by a drainage contractor
  • A grease trap that is too small for the kitchen

If in doubt, ring 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we will say what we think.

What the work covers

  • Restaurants and takeaways
  • Inline grease traps
  • School and care home kitchens
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Pot wash sinks

Why deal with it now?

Grease that leaves the kitchen ends up somewhere. It can build up in the drains and join fatbergs in the sewer. A well-maintained trap keeps it where it can be removed. Somewhere as small as Lymore, losing a kitchen or building to a fault is felt by everyone who uses it.

What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why every job is surveyed first, and the price is agreed before work begins.

The process

At the end of the visit, someone from your team can look over the work with us. We point out anything that couldn’t be reached or needs a follow-up, and it goes on the report too. All told, the work takes an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap. Seeing the system in photos first means the trip to Lymore can be planned properly.

  1. We find the trap and check how it’s connected.
  2. The sinks feeding the trap are kept out of use while we work.
  3. We take out the layer of fat, oil and grease and any solids.
  4. Every part of the trap is scraped and cleaned, including the baffles.
  5. Once it’s refitted, water is run through to check it drains, and we take the waste with us.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear loose items from the work area
  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
  • Find the previous report, if there is one

How to get a quote

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

Advice

Fixed quotes for grease trap cleaning in Lymore

Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We check:

  • How easy every part is to reach
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • One-off work versus a regular cycle
  • Any permits to work or inductions

The cost depends on how big the system is, the condition it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before we start, so you know where you stand.

Helping us quote

Before you ask for a quote, gather:

  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • The postcode and the type of business

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from your photos and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before work begins.

For landlords and multi-site operators

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept to a regular schedule.

For anyone managing more than one site, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Each site gets its own report and photos, so records stay tidy.
