Little Horsted ductwork cleaning
We cover Little Horsted for ductwork cleaning. Out-of-hours visits, a fixed quote and a written report with pictures as standard.
- Hardened, baked-on grease in long horizontal runs
- Gaps where access panels were never fitted
- Grease seeping out of the duct seams
Why act early in Little Horsted
Under BESA guidance, the mean grease level should stay at or below 200 microns between cleans. Anywhere that reaches 500 microns or more needs immediate spot cleaning. Putting off the clean only pushes readings higher. A fault that closes a site in a village like Little Horsted affects everyone who depends on it.
You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. For a fixed quote, call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, and we will explain what it covers.

About our ductwork cleaning in Little Horsted
Each extract duct we take on in Little Horsted goes through the full routine: we test the grease first, remove thick deposits by hand and degrease what’s left. Readings are taken again afterwards and pictures go into your report. If you have proof of duct cleaning for the insurer and high readings at a recent grease test, we can put it right, from bends and junctions, attenuators and multi-storey ducts onwards.
In a small place like Little Horsted, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. Access, parking and timings are agreed before the day.
The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with photos of everything we did. For TR19® Grease cleans, the certificate comes through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal and sits alongside the report.

Questions from Little Horsted
Who is the fire and rescue service for Little Horsted?
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is the fire and rescue service for Little Horsted. If a fire safety officer visits a commercial kitchen, they may ask about the fire risk assessment and how the extract is kept clean.
Do you work in villages like Little Horsted?
Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Little Horsted included. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule with a fixed quote.
What do you need from me for a quote?
A short description and a few photos, with the address and opening hours. If we need more, we will ask.
What do you do with what you remove?
We take it away when we go. During the work, it’s contained so the area stays clean.
How long will the duct clean take?
A short duct can be cleaned in a few hours, but long or complex ducts may take several visits. We plan the work around your kitchen.
Which accreditations do you hold?
BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We have been trading since 2009 and we are fully insured.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. Send the list of sites and the work at each and we will quote them together.
Different parts, different methods
Horizontal duct runs
The underside of a horizontal duct collects the most grease. We scrape out the heavy layer first, then the walls and roof are cleaned too.
Attenuators and discharge
The discharge is where the duct ends and air leaves the building. Grease can collect there and stain the area around it, so it’s cleaned as far as safe access allows.
Between visits
Results last longer with the right care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Have the grease measured if cooking hours go up
- Store the certificate with the fire risk assessment
- Make sure filters are seated properly
- Keep the fan on while anything is cooking
The report gives a recommended next clean date, based on the readings and your daily cooking hours, in line with BESA guidance.
The less grease gets past the canopy, the cleaner the duct stays. Clean, properly seated filters are the duct’s best protection.
How the visit works
The first job on site is protection: floors, worktops and anything near the work are covered. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes a few hours for a short run, longer for long runs and tall risers, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. A quick note on how to find the site and where to park makes a visit to Little Horsted run smoothly.
- We map the duct route and check where the access panels are.
- Set points along the runs are tested for grease.
- Access panels are opened and heavy deposits scraped out by hand.
- The duct is degreased with the method that suits the grease, from degreasers to hot water or steam.
- Readings and photos are repeated and any section we couldn’t reach is recorded.
Preparing for the visit
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Move anything stored near the system
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
How to get a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.
Advice
For landlords and multi-site operators
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit ends with a dated report and photos, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
Where a tenant occupies the premises but the landlord owns the building, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We are happy to deal with either side, and the report can go to both.

How we price ductwork cleaning
Every site gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The condition of the system
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
- How many systems or sites are involved
What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why we survey first, from photos or on site, and the price is agreed before any work starts.
Helping us quote
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:
- A few general shots of the system
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, and then give you a fixed quote. To get going, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us.
