Ductwork cleaning in Grove Park, Greater London
For ductwork cleaning in Grove Park, one call is all it takes: survey, fixed quote, work and sign-off. Fully insured, with CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001.
- A rancid smell from the extract duct
- High readings at a recent grease test
- Duct runs that can’t be reached
How we handle ductwork cleaning in Grove Park
We’ve been trading since 2009, working across London and the South East. We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and our certificates are issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. The work covers attenuators, access panels and vertical risers, and common reasons people get in touch are a duct clean needed for an insurer and readings above 200 microns from a grease thickness test.
London kitchens are often tucked into basements or the back of a building, and the duct may run up through several floors before it discharges at the roof. For a kitchen in Grove Park, that normally means a longer system to clean and more access panels to plan around.
Think of the report as the system’s health record: a dated account with photos of everything we did. For TR19® Grease cleans, the certificate comes through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, ready for your insurer.

How the job changes from site to site
Attenuators and discharge
Near the discharge, the air has cooled the most, so it can collect more grease than expected. It’s tested and cleaned along with the rest.
Vertical risers
Cleaning a riser needs access along its height. Any part that cannot be safely reached is recorded.
Between visits
A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. We recommend:
- Keep grease filters clean and fitted whenever you cook
- Keep your cleaning records together
- Keep access panels clear of stored items
- Run the extract fan throughout service
Every panel we open is refitted when we finish, and the area around them is cleaned down. Grease and dirty water are contained and removed.
Keep to the cleaning interval on the report. If the kitchen starts cooking longer hours, the interval may need to shorten, and grease thickness testing will show it.
What happens if it’s left?
Under BESA guidance, the mean grease level should stay at or below 200 microns between cleans. A reading of 500 microns or more at any point means a spot clean straight away. Leaving the duct makes those limits harder to keep to. London sites work long hours, and the longer a job is left, the bigger it gets.

Honest limits
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what ductwork cleaning will not do:
- Sections that can’t be reached safely without new access (those are recorded, and panels can be fitted)
- An extract fan that has stopped working
- Fire dampers that don’t close (they need testing and remedials)
If you’re not sure, just call us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Parts of the system we cover
- Bends and junctions
- Access panels
- Multi-storey ducts
- Attenuators
- Vertical risers
- Horizontal duct runs
How the visit works
Our technicians bring everything the work needs, including protection sheets, the right tools and access kit. All we need from you is clear access and the right equipment switched off. The visit takes a shift or more, depending on the length of the runs and the number of access points. If your building in Grove Park has sign-in rules, permits or key holders, mention them when you book.
- The duct route is surveyed and every access point found.
- Grease thickness is measured at set points.
- Out of hours, the area is protected and the access panels opened.
- Heavy deposits come out by hand, then each section is degreased.
- Panels are closed, readings and photos repeated, and unreachable sections recorded.
How to prepare
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
- Move anything stored near the system
Getting a quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work starts.

Grove Park kitchens: local notes
The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 69 pubs and bars and about 12 hotels and B&Bs in and around Grove Park, up to about a mile and a half out. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. Environmental health officers from Hounslow council inspect food businesses in Grove Park. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. Our report lists what was cleaned and when, which is useful to have ready. Night work suits London kitchens, and roads and loading bays tend to be quieter too.
A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St Paul's Church or elsewhere in Grove Park, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Barnes Hospital about 1.2 miles south-east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. School kitchens, at schools like Grove Park Primary School for example, are usually cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost.

Fixed quotes for ductwork cleaning in Grove Park
The price is fixed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
- How easy every part is to reach
- What state the system is in
- Parking and loading at the site
Every site is different, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all make a difference.
Asking for a quote
You don’t need the technical terms. Just send:
- Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
- Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your photos and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before work begins.
FAQs for Grove Park
Do you clean school canteen extracts around Grove Park out of term?
Yes. The holidays are the usual time for school work. Around Grove Park, the Food Standards Agency lists about 39 schools and colleges with registered kitchens within a mile and a half or so. Booking early in the term gives the best choice of holiday dates.
Can parking be tricky for a job in Grove Park?
London parking can be tight, so details of loading bays and permits help. Working overnight, as we often do in London, normally makes it simpler.
What do you do to protect the area?
We cover floors and nearby surfaces with sheeting before we start, and anything we remove is contained. Before we leave, we tidy up and clean down.
What happens if you cannot reach some of it?
We never leave them off the paperwork. You’ll know exactly which parts weren’t reached and why, along with a quote to put access in.
What shows that the ducts need a clean?
Signs include grease dripping from joints, smells and a fan working harder, but the only sure way is to measure. A WFTT or DTT reading gives a clear answer.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, depending on what the system needs.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. We always survey first, from your photos and details, or with a visit where needed. Then you get a fixed quote.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. One number covers all your sites in our area, and visits can be set on a regular cycle.
What staff can safely do
If your staff spot something between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We’ll take a look and send you a fixed quote.
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
