Caring ductwork cleaning
One call covers ductwork cleaning in Caring: survey, fixed quote, work and sign-off. Fully insured, with CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001.
- Stale grease odours from the duct
- Proof of duct cleaning for the insurer
- Hardened, baked-on grease in long horizontal runs
Signs you need ductwork cleaning in Caring
Wherever the kitchen is, in Caring or elsewhere, the duct fills in the same way: daily cooking hours, the menu and the state of the filters. Under BESA guidance, the minimum interval is 3, 6 or 12 months, by daily cooking hours.
It’s time to book a visit if you see:
- Thick deposits at the bottom of a vertical duct
- A grease test showing the duct is overdue
- Duct runs with no cleaning record
- Proof of duct cleaning for the insurer
Where a hall near St Nicholas's Church, or anywhere in Caring, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.

Ductwork cleaning in Caring
We treat ductwork like a doctor treats arteries: diagnose where grease has built up, clear it and confirm the result. Readings taken before and after show the difference, alongside before and after pictures. Typical jobs include hardened, baked-on grease in long horizontal runs and a duct nobody has opened in years, across bends and junctions, vertical risers and horizontal duct runs.
Rural kitchens often have long, low duct runs through a roof space or along an outside wall, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. Access, parking and timings are agreed before the day.
For insurers and inspectors, the record counts. That’s why every job is written up in a report with photos, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What happens if it’s left?
Grease narrows the duct and slows the air. Less air moves, so heat and smoke stay in the kitchen while the fan strains, and grease may start to leak from joints. Rural sites cannot always move to another kitchen or room when something fails.
Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Build-up, wear and faults tend to get worse, not better, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you’re unsure, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed quote.

What ductwork cleaning can’t fix
Ductwork cleaning can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not put right:
- A failed fan motor at the end of the duct (a fan repair job)
- A duct that is too small or badly routed for the kitchen (a design issue)
- Duct sections that need replacing
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will say what we think.
What the work covers
- Multi-storey ducts
- Access panels
- Attenuators
- Horizontal duct runs
- Bends and junctions
- Vertical risers
For landlords and multi-site operators
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Kent. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.
Whether it’s one building or many, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with pictures.
Between visits
Results last longer with the right care. We suggest:
- Run the extract fan throughout service
- Tell us if grease leaks from the ductwork
- Keep grease filters clean and fitted whenever you cook
- Book the next clean before the recommended date
A full system clean includes a TR19 certificate from the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. It records the date, the location and the technician.
The less grease gets past the canopy, the cleaner the duct stays. Clean, properly seated filters are the duct’s best protection.
How the visit works
We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes a few hours for a short run, longer for long runs and tall risers. A quick note on how to find the site and where to park makes a visit to Caring run smoothly.
- Diagnosis: a survey of the duct’s route, size and access.
- A fixed quote follows, based on what we found.
- Each section is cleaned in turn through its access panel.
- Bends, risers and the base of each riser get extra attention.
- Readings, pictures and a recommended next clean date complete the job.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
- Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive

Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before work begins.

Caring questions
Will you come out to Caring?
Yes. Caring is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A survey first, from pictures or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in Caring?
The local authority for Caring is Maidstone council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. An officer may look up into the canopy, so clean filters on the day and a recent certificate on file both help.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line and we will talk you through the next steps.
How long does ductwork cleaning take?
Duct length, access and grease levels all affect it. As a guide, it takes from a few hours to more than one visit, depending on duct length and access.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
Commercial premises of every kind: kitchens, offices, schools, healthcare, retail, leisure and food production. Work is timed around how each site runs.
What’s involved in cleaning extract ducts?
Through access panels along the duct. Heavy grease is scraped out by hand, then the surfaces are degreased with a method that suits the deposit, such as degreasers, hot water or steam.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. Tell us the addresses and what each needs and we’ll quote them together.
Can you quote from pictures?
Often, yes. With good photos, the site type and your last report, we can price many jobs. Larger or hidden systems need a survey on site first.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We will take a look and give you a fixed quote.
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Caring kitchens: local notes
Food Standards Agency data counts about 14 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens and about 6 takeaways and sandwich shops within 1.5 miles or so of the middle of Caring. The duct above a busy canopy coats itself in grease long before anyone sees it. Environmental health officers from Maidstone council inspect food businesses in Caring. An officer looking round a kitchen will see the canopy, and grease there is hard to miss. Our report lists what was cleaned and when, which is useful to have ready. The fire and rescue service for Caring is Kent Fire and Rescue Service. In most workplaces, including commercial kitchens, it’s the fire and rescue authority that enforces the Fire Safety Order.
Healthcare kitchens can’t easily close, so their extracts are cleaned overnight or between meal services; the nearest hospital to Caring is KIMS hospital, about 2.6 miles north-west. For schools such as Leeds and Broomfield Church of England Primary School, kitchen extract cleaning is normally booked for the holidays, when the canteen is closed.
Caring is about 3 miles east of Maidstone, in Kent. We carry out ductwork cleaning for commercial premises of every kind in Caring and the rest of Kent. 922 places in Kent are on our list, large and small.
