Ductwork cleaning across Brookside

Ductwork cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Brookside

Ductwork in Brookside is cleaned the same thorough way as everywhere else we work: readings at set points, heavy grease scraped out by hand, then degreasing to suit the deposit. Readings are taken again afterwards and pictures go into your report. The work covers multi-storey ducts, bends and junctions and attenuators, and the jobs we see most are proof of duct cleaning for the insurer and a grease test showing the duct is overdue.

For a kitchen in or near Brookside, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.

Every visit ends with a written report and photos, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Ductwork cleaning around Brookside

Food Standards Agency records include about 4 pubs, bars and clubs within about 1.5 miles of central Brookside. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. The fire and rescue service for Brookside is Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract. Food hygiene inspections in Brookside are the job of Bracknell Forest council’s environmental health team. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. Before-and-after pictures from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand.

Historic houses near Brookside, such as St Leonard's Hill about 3.2 miles north-east, are a reminder that older buildings with event kitchens can have long, awkward duct routes. Volunteers running a hall kitchen near Chapel of St Mary and St John, or anywhere in Brookside, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it.

Questions from Brookside

Who is the fire and rescue service for Brookside?

That’s Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. It’s worth keeping your fire risk assessment, TR19® certificates and photo reports together, ready to show.

Can you come to Brookside after we close?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. The site is handed back ready to open. When you phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form, mention when the site is quiet.

What about areas you can’t get to?

They’re listed in the report, never skipped quietly. The report says which parts couldn’t be reached and why, along with a quote to put access in.

Is Brookside in your area?

Yes. We work in Brookside and the rest of Windsor and Maidenhead, as part of our work across South East England and London. For a fixed quote, ring 0345 646 2711, or email photos.

Which accreditations do you hold?

BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We’re fully insured and have been trading since 2009.

What information do you need?

Only a few details: the address, the site type, your opening hours and how we reach the system. Photos and the last report help too. After that, simply call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

Can you clean ductwork with no access panels?

Any section we cannot reach is recorded on the report, in line with TR19. We can fit new access panels so they’re cleaned next time.

Can you look after several sites?

Yes. We work across South East England and London, so we can schedule a run of sites on one programme. Each site gets its own report and photos.

Fixed quotes for ductwork cleaning in Brookside

Sites vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:

  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing

A single site or a whole portfolio, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the timing. You will have a fixed price before work begins.

What we need to know

When you contact us, these details help:

  • The site address and the type of premises
  • A few general shots of the system
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels

The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

Common problems we fix in Brookside

Slow air leaves the most grease behind. Flat runs, bends, reducers and the base of risers are the usual hotspots, and those are the points we pay most attention to.

The symptoms we are asked about most include:

  • Ductwork that has never been cleaned
  • Heavy grease at the base of a riser
  • A grease test showing the duct is overdue
  • Gaps where access panels were never fitted

Term dates shape school work: for a school like Papplewick School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the quote is based on a survey or photos
  • Whether they’re fully insured
  • Exactly which parts of the system are covered
  • What records you’ll receive afterwards

Our hiring checklist

What happens if it’s left?

Insurers know the risk of a greasy duct. Many policies require TR19 cleaning, and a claim may be refused or reduced without evidence. A certificate that covers the ductwork is what they want to see. With notice, the visit to Brookside can be fitted around your bookings and events.

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, which can make the next visit longer. If you’re unsure, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email for straight advice and a fixed quote.

Looking after it afterwards

No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:

  • Check readings when the menu changes
  • Never cook with a filter missing
  • Don’t block access panels with shelving or stock
  • Ask us about extra access panels where sections can’t be reached

Keep the certificate and report with the fire risk assessment. An insurer, fire officer or EHO may ask to see it, and the pictures make the duct’s condition easy to see.

The less grease gets past the canopy, the cleaner the duct stays. Keep the filters clean, well fitted and in place whenever you cook.

Honest limits

Ductwork cleaning cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t put right:

  • Fire dampers that don’t close (they need testing and remedials)
  • Duct sealed behind fixed ceilings or walls
  • A duct that is too small or badly routed for the kitchen (a design issue)

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will tell you honestly.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Multi-storey ducts
  • Access panels
  • Horizontal duct runs
  • Bends and junctions
  • Vertical risers
  • Attenuators

What we do, step by step

There are three stages on the day: getting the area ready, doing the work and signing it off. Getting ready means protecting surfaces and switching off what needs to be off, and the sign-off is a written report with photos. The middle part takes longest, and that takes a shift or more, depending on the length of the runs and the number of access points. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to Brookside.

  1. We start by working out how the duct runs and where it can be opened.
  2. Grease readings are taken at set points along the duct.
  3. We open the panels and scrape out the heaviest grease.
  4. Next the ducts and risers are degreased, using whatever suits the deposit.
  5. Post-clean readings and photos go into the report, with any unreachable section listed.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions

Part by part

Attenuators and discharge

Attenuators, where fitted, quieten the extract, and their linings can soak up grease. We clean what can be reached and note anything that can’t.

Access panels

We can fit new access panels where the duct needs them, making future cleans more complete. The survey shows where they’re needed.
