Canopy cleaning for sites in Mystole

Between visits

Aftercare is simple, and it helps at the next visit:

  • Wipe the canopy down at close every day
  • Check all filters are fitted before service
  • Flag any change in how the canopy behaves
  • Leave the extract running until cooking stops

File the report alongside your fire risk assessment, so it’s ready when an EHO, insurer or fire officer asks. Before and after photos speak for themselves.

Run the extract for as long as anything is cooking. Air that keeps moving carries less grease onto the canopy.

Canopy cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Mystole

The canopy is the part of the extract everyone in the kitchen sees. It’s also the first place cooking vapour meets, so grease gathers on its inner skin, seams and gutters. We clean it inside and out, along with the plenum and filter housing behind it. The work covers baffle filters, island canopies and plenum chambers, and people most often call us about a filter housing caked in grease and a sticky, discoloured canopy.

For a kitchen in or near Mystole, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean covers the whole system, as it would anywhere: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

Every visit ends with a written report and pictures, so you have a record of what was done and when. Kitchen extract cleaning to TR19® Grease is certificated through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Mystole

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.

Common questions in Mystole

Which council inspects kitchens in Mystole?

The local authority for Mystole is Canterbury City council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. It helps to keep the extract cleaning records with your food safety paperwork, so they’re ready if asked for.

Who is the fire and rescue service for Mystole?

Fire safety enforcement in Mystole is handled by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Records of extract cleaning are a sensible thing to have ready if a fire safety officer carries out an audit.

Do you work in Mystole?

Yes. We cover Mystole and the rest of Kent, within our South East and London area. To book, call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

How much notice do you need?

It depends on the time you need and how big the job is. Tell us your preferred dates when you ask for a quote, and if it’s an emergency, call us any time.

How much does canopy cleaning cost in Mystole?

There’s no set price, as it depends on the job: the size of the system, its condition, access and when we can work. We fix the price before any work starts.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Scheduled maintenance plans are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. Duct Doctor is fully insured, and the details are available on request.

Can you look after several sites?

Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so we can schedule a run of sites as one programme. Each site gets its own report and photos.

How the job changes from site to site

Island canopies

Everything about an island canopy is on show so a clean, even finish matters. It’s degreased and photographed for your report.

Grease troughs and gutters

Many canopies have troughs or gutters around the edge to catch running grease. They’re emptied and cleaned during the job, so they can do their job again.

Fixed quotes for canopy cleaning in Mystole

Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:

  • Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
  • The condition of the system
  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • A single visit or a regular plan

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why every job is surveyed first, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.

Asking for a quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price the work. Useful things to send:

  • Wide photos of the system and the area around it
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
  • Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow

Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Kitchen extracts in Mystole

We cover Mystole, about 50 miles from central London, as part of our work across London and the South East. A survey and a fixed quote come first, then the visit at a time that suits you. Mystole sits within the area of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk.

Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Kent and Canterbury Hospital is the nearest hospital to Mystole, about 3.8 miles east. If you cook for passing trade around Chartham station, the extract can be cleaned between your last and first customer. Where a hall near Church of St Mary, or anywhere in Mystole, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.

Mystole is about 4 miles south-west of Canterbury, in Kent. Why act early in Mystole

Grease dripping from the hood can fall onto food, pans and worktops. It’s a food hygiene concern as much as a fire concern, and EHOs look at the cleanliness of the premises and equipment. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.

When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before we start.

When it’s something else

Not every problem is solved by canopy cleaning, and we will tell you before any work starts. It doesn’t solve:

  • A canopy undersized for the equipment
  • Grease filters too damaged to refit (they need replacing)
  • Electrical faults in the canopy

Not sure which it is? You can call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Where we work

  • Island canopies
  • Wall canopies
  • Baffle filters
  • Canopy light fittings
  • Plenum chambers
  • Grease gutters

What we do, step by step

There are three stages on the day: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Set-up means sheeting and making equipment safe, and the sign-off is a written report with pictures. The middle part takes longest, and that takes a few hours for most canopies. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in Mystole before we set off.

  1. Diagnosis first: we look behind the filters as well as at the hood.
  2. We protect everything below once it has cooled.
  3. Heavy deposits come off by hand, then the surfaces are degreased.
  4. We finish the plenum, troughs and canopy and check them over.
  5. You get pictures of the result and a recommended date for the next clean.
