What affects the quote in Little Parndon

A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:

  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • How big the system is
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule

Several systems or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every system or site you need covered and we’ll price it together.

What we need to know

Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:

  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall

We do not publish a price list, because every site is different. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, then send a fixed quote. To get going, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us.

Canopy cleaning in Little Parndon, done properly

Every TR19® Grease clean includes the canopy, but some sites need the canopy done between full cleans. Where that’s the case, we’ll be clear that the ducts and fan aren’t included, so your records stay accurate. If you’re dealing with a greasy hood noticed by an inspector and poor capture at the hood, we can help.

Size does not change the work: a kitchen in a place like Little Parndon gets the whole system cleaned, canopy to discharge. We plan the visit around your hours, with the journey sorted in advance.

It’s worth checking any contractor’s accreditations. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

How the visit works

We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes part of a shift for most kitchens, more where there are several canopies or heavy deposits. Because the survey comes first, a visit to Little Parndon can normally be finished without a second trip.

  1. We look at the canopy first, from photos or on a visit.
  2. Cooking equipment is left to cool and the area under the canopy protected.
  3. We remove the grease filters and clean the plenum and filter housing.
  4. We degrease the canopy shell, its seams and the grease troughs.
  5. Filters go back, the area is cleaned down and pictures are taken.

How to prepare

  • Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Tell us where we can park and unload

Advice

Why act early in Little Parndon

When grease clogs the filters and plenum, the canopy cannot draw air as it should. The kitchen gets hotter and smokier while the fan strains. A clean canopy and plenum let the extract do its job. Systems on quieter sites still build up dirt and wear, just more slowly.

Working hours, access and the scale of the site all affect the cost. We take each of them into account and give you a fixed price before we start.

Kitchen extracts in Little Parndon

The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 24 pubs and bars and about 3 hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in and around Little Parndon, up to about a mile and a half out. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. Fire safety in Little Parndon falls to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service. Keeping each certificate and photo report on file helps show the extract is looked after.

If you cook for passing trade around Harlow Town station, the extract can be cleaned between your last and first customer. Volunteers running a hall kitchen near Church of St Mary, or anywhere in Little Parndon, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it.

When to call us in Little Parndon

Most canopies have troughs or channels that catch running grease. Left to fill up, they spill over, so fat ends up running down the front of the hood.

Most sites get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Heavy deposits behind the grease filters
  • Drips from the canopy onto the range
  • Poor capture at the hood
  • Condensation and grease dripping together

School kitchens, at schools like Little Parndon Primary School for example, are normally cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether the quote is based on a survey or pictures
  • What records you’ll receive afterwards
  • What insurance they carry
  • How areas they cannot reach will be recorded

What a clean won’t put right

A few issues sit outside what this work can do:

  • Weak extraction caused by a failing fan motor
  • Electrical faults in the canopy
  • Ductwork and fans beyond the canopy (those need a full TR19 clean)

If you are not sure, just call 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Island canopies
  • Baffle filters
  • Wall canopies
  • Plenum chambers
  • Canopy light fittings
  • Grease gutters

Different parts, different methods

Island canopies

The underside of an island canopy is in full view so a clean, even finish matters. We degrease it thoroughly and photograph the result.

Wall canopies

The back of a wall canopy is hard to reach and easy to miss. With the filters out we can get to it and degrease it properly.

Your questions about canopy cleaning in Little Parndon

Can school kitchens in Little Parndon be cleaned in the holidays?

Yes. Half-terms and the summer break are the natural time for school work. Food Standards Agency records list about 17 schools, colleges and universities with registered kitchens within about a mile and a half of Little Parndon. You can call 0345 646 2711 or email us with the dates the site is empty.

Do you work at weekends in Little Parndon?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. It means the site in Little Parndon keeps running as normal. When you phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, mention when the site is quiet.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line and we will talk you through the next steps.

Why does grease run off the canopy edge?

Most drips come from overflowing troughs, damaged filters or a plenum thick with grease. We clean all three and point out anything that’s causing it.

Which kinds of sites do you work on?

Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a small pub to a hospital. We work with hotels, schools, care homes, offices, retail and leisure sites.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. Every job is surveyed first, either from photos and details you send or on a site visit. Then you get a fixed quote.

Are you insured?

Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

Where does the waste go?

It leaves the site with us when we go. While we work, it’s kept contained so the area stays clean.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

Logging matters as much as cleaning. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, alongside our reports.
