Forestside canopy cleaning
Canopy cleaning across Forestside and nearby, booked around your opening hours and signed off in writing with photos.
- Canopy gutters full of old fat
- A hood coated in old grease
- A greasy hood noticed by an inspector
Multi-site and managed buildings
Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Canopy cleaning in Forestside, done properly
We clean canopies in Forestside when the kitchen is not cooking: after service, overnight or at the weekend. The equipment underneath is switched off, left to cool and sheeted, and the kitchen is left ready for the next service. Typical jobs include a greasy hood noticed by an inspector and grease channels that no longer drain, on island canopies, canopy light fittings and plenum chambers.
Rural kitchens often have long, low duct runs through a roof space or along an outside wall, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. We agree access and timings in advance.
Every visit ends with a written report and photos, so there’s a dated record of the work. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Canopy cleaning around Forestside
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service covers Forestside. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract. We cover Forestside, about 54 miles from central London, as part of our work across London and the South East. Evening, overnight and weekend visits are all possible.
If you run catering at a historic house or estate in the area (Uppark is about 3.2 miles north), event kitchens in older buildings often have awkward duct runs that need planning. Church and community hall kitchens, near Christ Church or anywhere around Forestside, are easy to forget, but their extracts collect grease like any other. Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Havant War Memorial Hospital is the nearest hospital to Forestside, about 5 miles south-west.
Forestside is about 4 miles east of Horndean, in Hampshire. If you need canopy cleaning in Forestside, please phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us for a fixed quote. What a clean will not put right
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- A hood that does not cover the cooking line
- Faulty canopy lights or wiring (a job for an electrician)
- Poor airflow from a fan that needs repair

Fixed quotes for canopy cleaning in Forestside
A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- A single visit or a regular plan
- The times the site is available
- What state the system is in
What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why every job is surveyed first, and the price is agreed before we start.
What to send for a quote
We can often survey from photos. Try to include:
- Any previous report or certificate
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
- The site address and the type of premises
- Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.
What your team can do, and what needs us
When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We can diagnose it and quote.
Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and tidy surfaces slow the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.
How the job changes from site to site
Plenums and filter housings
The rails and channels that hold the filters collect grease. Clean housings let the filters seat properly and leave no gaps.
Pub and hotel kitchens
Pub and hotel kitchens can cook from breakfast to late evening. That is a lot of grease on the canopy, and canopy cleans between full cleans can help.
What happens if it’s left?
Leaving the canopy until the next full clean can mean months of build-up. Some kitchens need the canopy cleaning more often than the whole system, and readings or a look behind the filters will show it. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.
Combining work into one visit or one programme can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every system or site you need covered and we will price it together.

How it works
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes a few hours, depending on the size of the canopy and how much grease has built up, and we clear up before we go. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to Forestside.
- We start by checking the canopy, filters and plenum.
- The range is turned off and allowed to cool before we cover it.
- With the filters out, the plenum and housing are cleaned back.
- Inside and out, the canopy and its grease channels are degreased.
- Clean filters are refitted and before and after pictures go into your report.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking and loading
- Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
- Move anything stored near the system
How to get a quote
For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. We usually come back within one working day.
Advice
Forestside: your questions answered
Can you work in Forestside outside opening hours?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. Your customers, staff or residents in Forestside needn’t be disturbed. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Forestside?
Yes, Forestside is part of our area, however small the site. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is canopy cleaning enough for TR19?
On its own, a canopy clean is a useful extra rather than a full TR19 clean. We’ll make clear on the report which parts were cleaned so nobody mistakes it for a full system clean.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Plans on a 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycle are available, to suit the system and how it’s used.
Do you clean inside the canopy as well as outside?
The full canopy, inside and out, and the plenum behind it. Troughs, gutters and filter housings are cleaned too.
Where does the waste go?
Anything we remove is contained as we work and taken away with us, including grease, debris and dirty water. None of it is left on site.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: the address, the site type, your opening hours and how we reach the system. Photos and any previous paperwork make it quicker. Then give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos.
Who has the legal duty for fire safety?
It depends on the building. The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty on the responsible person, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, facilities manager or managing agent.
