- Dust built up on fan impellers
Different parts, different methods
Internal casing and panels
Dust settles on every internal surface of the unit. Each section is cleaned from the intake through to the outlet.
Drain trays
The drain tray collects water from the cooling coil. We clear standing water, clean out slime and check the outlet is draining.
AHU cleaning in Stotfold, done properly
We clean air handling units for buildings in Stotfold and across Hertfordshire, working to TR19® Air, in buildings such as offices, schools, healthcare sites and shops. The work is timed around when the system can be switched off, including evenings, nights and weekends. We’re often asked to deal with odours coming through the supply air and fan sections that haven’t been cleaned in years, on heating and cooling coils, internal panels and drain trays.
In a smaller place like Stotfold, buildings with ducted ventilation are more likely to be a school, a surgery, a care home or a small business unit than an office block. Smaller systems still gather dust and need inspecting.
Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured. On top of that, we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we have been trading since 2009.

Why it’s worth doing now in Stotfold
A slimy drain tray only gets worse. Left alone, it can overflow, leak into the plant area or ceiling below and spread smells through the system. Clearing it now is a much smaller job. A visit arranged in advance is far less disruptive than a callout on a busy day.
You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we will talk you through it.

What staff can safely do
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
Some jobs should never be done in-house: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

What a clean will not put right
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work cannot put right:
- Breakdowns that need a mechanical engineer
- Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors
- Airflow problems caused by the system’s design
If you are not sure, just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How it works
Every visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, isolate whatever needs isolating, carry out the AHU cleaning, clear away and leave you the report. On site, the work takes anything from half a day for one small unit to several shifts for a plant room full of them. We plan the journey to Stotfold and bring what the job is likely to need.
- We survey the unit from photos or on site and agree what’s included.
- With your site team, the unit is switched off and isolated, then the area around it protected.
- Filters, coils, fan section and casing are cleaned in turn.
- Drain trays are cleared and cleaned and the outlet checked.
- We close up the unit and send the certificate and before and after photos.
Getting ready for the visit
- Agree a time when the area can be out of use
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
Getting a quote
For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few pictures and your last certificate or report help a lot. We normally come back within one working day.

Keeping the system healthy
Aftercare is simple, and it helps at the next visit:
- Make sure condensate is draining away
- Don’t store bins or materials near the intake
- Watch for drips or damp patches near the plant
- Keep the certificate and photo report with the plant records
You receive a TR19® certificate and a photo report after the clean. They belong in the plant or maintenance log.
Make the drain tray part of every maintenance visit. Catching a slow drain early stops standing water building up.
For landlords and multi-site operators
Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit ends with a dated report and pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.
