AHU cleaning in Eastwood
Units vary a lot in size, age and layout, from a small ceiling-mounted unit to a large rooftop plant. Every job starts with a survey, from pictures or on site, followed by a fixed quote, so you know where you stand. The work covers dampers and louvres, heating and cooling coils and internal panels, and common reasons people get in touch are units needing a clean before a new tenant or handover and units that have only ever had filter changes.
Around a place like Eastwood, ventilation systems tend to be in schools, surgeries, care homes and workplaces. Even a small system collects dust in its ducts and filters.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with photos of the work, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Eastwood: your questions answered
Can you clean school ventilation in Eastwood during the holidays?
Yes, and it’s the easiest time to do it. With about 13 schools and colleges on the FSA’s register within roughly a mile and a half of Eastwood, it pays to plan holiday dates ahead. Just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with your term dates and we will plan around them.
Can the work in Eastwood be done at night or at weekends?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. Your customers, staff or residents in Eastwood needn’t be disturbed. Just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.
Which accreditations do you hold?
CHAS, SafeContractor, ISO 9001 and BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We’re fully insured and have been trading since 2009.
What should I send you?
Some photos and a quick description of the system plus the address and your hours. If we need more, we’ll ask.
How much notice do you need?
Book as early as you can for planned work, particularly if your next visit is nearly due. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.
How much does AHU cleaning cost?
It depends on the site, so we quote each one individually. To get one, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and tell us about the site and its opening hours.
Do you look at the system first?
Yes. Every job is surveyed first, from your pictures and details, or with a visit where needed. A fixed quote follows.
What does TR19 mean?
It’s BESA’s specification and the benchmark insurers, fire officers and EHOs look to. It covers how systems are inspected, cleaned and checked and expects a risk-based approach.
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Southend-on-Sea. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.
Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
How we price AHU cleaning
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
- The condition we find in the survey
- The scale of the work
- Any permits to work or inductions
A single site or a whole portfolio, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. The price is fixed before work begins.
What we need to know
Many jobs can be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- A few general shots of the system
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
Want a quote for AHU cleaning? Please call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and tell us about the site. We’ll explain what we’d do and send a fixed quote before you commit to anything.
What we do, step by step
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. It takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. In a smaller place like Eastwood, parking is rarely the issue, but tell us about gates, roof access and opening hours.
- We look at the unit and the plant area during the survey.
- We sheet the area and the unit is isolated.
- Dirt and debris are removed from each section.
- We clean the coils and clear the tray and drain.
- The unit is closed up and handed back, with a report to follow.
Before we arrive
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Mention any parking or loading restrictions
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
Ask for a quote
Some systems can be priced from photos; others need a survey. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in photos, get a survey first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Part by part
Filters
Dirty filters cut airflow and let dirt slip past their frames. The filter section is cleaned so new or cleaned filters sit properly.
Rooftop and plant room units
Units outside are exposed to weather and windblown debris. We clean the intake and first stage of filters along with the rest.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, which is where we come in.
