How we handle AHU cleaning in Castle Town

Our AHU cleans for sites in Castle Town cover the parts that collect dirt: the filter section, heating and cooling coils, drain trays, fan and casing. You get a TR19® certificate and a photo report showing the unit before and after. The work covers internal panels, filter sections and supply and extract fans, and the jobs we see most are drain trays holding standing water and dust-coated heating and cooling coils.

Somewhere as small as Castle Town, ducted ventilation is typically limited to a school, a care home, a surgery or a converted business building, wherever there is one, but those that do need it inspected and cleaned like any other.

For insurers and inspectors, the record counts. That is why every job is written up in a report with photos, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Questions from Castle Town

Do you cover smaller places like Castle Town?

Yes. Castle Town is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A survey first, from photos or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.

Do you cover Castle Town for AHU cleaning?

Yes, Castle Town is covered. Just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with a few details of the site.

How much notice should we give?

For planned work, earlier is better, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry full insurance and have been trading since 2009.

Do you do ventilation duct cleaning too?

Yes. We clean supply and extract ductwork to TR19® Air as well. Cleaning the unit and ducts together often makes sense, and we can quote for both.

What do you clean inside the unit?

Filters, coils, drain trays, the fan and the internal surfaces are all covered. Filters are cleaned or changed as agreed in the quote.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so we can schedule a run of sites on one programme. Each site gets its own report and pictures.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7, for problems that can’t wait. Call us any time and explain what’s happened.

Multi-site and managed buildings

We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed quote.

For anyone managing more than one site, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.

What we are called out for in Castle Town

Filters that are not changed or cleaned on time clog up, cutting airflow and sometimes letting dirty air bypass them altogether. After that, the coils and fan collect what the filter should have caught.

These are the problems we see most often:

  • Coils clogged with dust and debris
  • Rooms that smell stuffy when the system runs
  • Units that have only ever had filter changes
  • Blocked condensate drains and slimy trays

Southlands Hospital, about 3.1 miles south-east, is the nearest hospital to Castle Town, and healthcare sites of every size need their supply air kept clean.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What’s included in the scope, part by part
  • Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
  • What happens if part of the system cannot be accessed
  • Proof of insurance

Our hiring checklist

Leave it or put it right?

A clogged coil or dirty fan makes the unit work harder for the same airflow. The result is extra wear and a building that doesn’t feel as comfortable, and a clean on your terms beats a breakdown on nobody’s. In a small place like Castle Town, a system that fails can take a site out of use.

Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

Honest limits

Some problems need a different service or another trade:

  • Controls and BMS settings that run the unit
  • Mechanical faults with motors, belts or bearings
  • A system that’s undersized for the building

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What the work covers

  • Filter sections
  • Drain trays
  • Heating and cooling coils
  • Supply and extract fans
  • Dampers and louvres
  • Internal panels

How it works

Your trading hours come first. We book the visit for a time the area is closed, whether that’s an evening, overnight or a weekend. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the work takes from a few hours for a compact unit to a day or more for a large one. Seeing the system in photos first means the trip to Castle Town can be planned properly.

  1. First the unit is surveyed, from photos or a visit, and the scope agreed.
  2. With your site team, the unit is switched off and isolated, then the area around it protected.
  3. Filters are dealt with as agreed, and the coils, fan and casing cleaned.
  4. Standing water and slime come out of the tray and the drain is checked.
  5. A TR19® certificate and photo report follow the clean.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
  • Clear loose items from the work area
  • Find the previous report, if there is one

How to get a quote

To get a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few pictures and your last certificate or report help a lot. We typically come back within one working day.

Advice

Between visits

Good habits slow the build-up between visits. Our tips:

  • Store the TR19 paperwork where auditors can find it
  • Keep the area around the fresh air intake clear
  • Plan the next inspection before the last report gets filed away
  • Note any water around the unit or leaks below it

Once the clean is done, we send a TR19® certificate and a report with before and after photos. Keep both with the building’s maintenance records.

Make the drain tray part of every maintenance visit. A drain that’s cleared early never gets to the slime stage.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Some jobs should never be done in-house: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings need training, the right equipment and safe access. Leave those to us.

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you can’t see still need a specialist at the right interval.
