Ventilation duct cleaning for sites in Slinfold

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.

Logging matters as much as cleaning. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, alongside our reports.

Ventilation duct cleaning in Slinfold, done properly

Every ventilation system has ducts bringing air in and ducts taking it out. Dust and debris build up in both, some of which ends up back in the rooms. Our cleaning covers the ducts, grilles and diffusers, to TR19® Air. We’re often asked to deal with ducts that need a clean before handover and systems missing access panels, across toilet extract systems, hospitals and care homes and grilles and diffusers.

For a building in or near Slinfold, access is agreed in advance and the visit is planned around the journey.

Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured. On top of that, we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Questions from Slinfold

Can you work in Slinfold outside opening hours?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. Your customers, staff or residents in Slinfold needn’t be disturbed. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Can you get to a site in Slinfold?

Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Slinfold included. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, alongside BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. Vent Hygiene Elite is run by BESCA and independently audited.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. We always survey first, from your photos and details, or with a visit where needed. A fixed quote follows.

What’s TR19?

It’s BESA’s specification and the benchmark insurers, fire officers and EHOs look to. It sets out inspection, cleaning and record keeping, and it takes a risk-based approach.

How long does ventilation cleaning take?

As a guide, it takes a day or less for a small system and a series of visits for a large one. Large buildings can be phased, often out of hours, to fit around the building.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes, of course. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule with a fixed quote.

Do we get a certificate after the clean?

Yes. Every clean comes with a TR19® certificate and a photo report. BESA advises keeping certificates in the maintenance log.

Looking after it afterwards

How long the results last depends on use and care. We suggest:

  • Stick to the filter change schedule
  • Keep the TR19 certificate and photo report in the maintenance log
  • Keep vents and grilles clear of shelving and stock
  • Diary the next TR19® Air inspection

You get a TR19® certificate and a photo report after the clean. BESA advises keeping certificates in the maintenance log, with the date, location and technician on record.

Fit access panels where the ductwork can’t be reached. Hidden sections are the ones that get worst.

Multi-site and managed buildings

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit ends with a dated report and photos, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.

When to call us in Slinfold

Damp ducts hold onto dirt. Condensation and leaks turn loose dust into a stubborn layer, and it becomes harder to remove.

Common reasons sites call us include:

  • Ductwork with too few access panels to clean
  • Damp or stale smells from grilles
  • Dust marks around grilles and ceiling diffusers
  • Blocked general extract ductwork

Hospitals such as Horsham Hospital (about 3.5 miles east) show how much a building can rely on clean ventilation, and smaller healthcare sites near Slinfold are no different.

What your quote should include

  • Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
  • If they look at the system before pricing
  • Whether a written report and photos are included
  • How they set the interval to the next visit

Choosing a duct cleaning contractor

What affects the cost of ventilation duct cleaning

There’s no set price list, because sites vary so much. What we look at:

  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • The scale of the work

Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Call for a fixed quote and we will go through it with you.

Asking for a quote

When you contact us, it’s useful to have:

  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • A few general shots of the system
  • Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site

Need a price for ventilation duct cleaning? Please give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us with a few details about the site. We’ll talk you through the work and send you a fixed quote before you commit to anything.

What ventilation duct cleaning cannot fix

Some problems need a different service or another trade:

  • Ventilation that’s undersized for the building
  • Ducts that are damaged, corroded or leaking and need replacing
  • Leaks from roofs, pipes or walls into the ductwork

If you are not sure, just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What the work covers

  • Toilet extract systems
  • Hospitals and care homes
  • General extract ductwork
  • Grilles and diffusers
  • Supply ductwork
  • Offices and schools

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes a weekend for a modest system, with large buildings phased floor by floor. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to Slinfold.

  1. First we plan when the work can happen, often out of hours.
  2. We open the ductwork through its access panels.
  3. We photograph the ducts, then clean each section in turn.
  4. Grilles and diffusers are cleaned and refitted.
  5. We take after photos and send the certificate and report.

How to prepare

  • Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use
  • Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards

Ask for a quote

We do not publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. Instead, we look at your site first, from photos or a survey, then send a fixed quote. To start, call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.
