Ventilation duct cleaning in Northam

Every ventilation system has ducts bringing air in and ducts taking it out. Over time, both collect dust and debris, some of which ends up back in the rooms. Our cleaning covers the ducts, grilles and diffusers, to TR19® Air. Typical jobs include odours carried round the building by the ducts and systems with no record of inspection or cleaning, on general extract ductwork, toilet extract systems and hospitals and care homes.

In a smaller place like Northam, buildings with ducted ventilation are more likely to be a school, a surgery, a care home or a small business unit than an office block. Smaller systems still gather dust and need inspecting.

A written report with photos follows each visit, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Northam: your questions answered

Can you come to Northam after we close?

Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. That way a site in Northam doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Is Northam within the area you cover?

Yes. Northam is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

When should our ventilation next be cleaned?

Under TR19® Air, the answer comes from inspecting the ducts. Busy or sensitive buildings may need it more often.

What do you do with what you remove?

We contain it and take it with us. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on, so it doesn’t spread.

Do you clean grilles and diffusers?

Yes. Where they can be removed, they’re taken down, cleaned and refitted. The rest are cleaned where they are.

How much does ventilation duct cleaning cost in Northam?

Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. For a quote, ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with the site type, opening hours and a few photos.

Do you provide a report?

Yes. You get a certificate with the date, location and technician, plus a photo report.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule with a fixed quote.

What ventilation duct cleaning cannot fix

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Ventilation that is undersized for the building
  • Controls and BMS faults that affect the system
  • Leaks from roofs, pipes or walls into the ductwork

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Hospitals and care homes
  • General extract ductwork
  • Supply ductwork
  • Offices and schools
  • Toilet extract systems
  • Grilles and diffusers

What the work involves, part by part

Extract ductwork

Extract ducts take air out of toilets, washrooms and general areas. They collect dust, lint and fibres and slowly narrow.

Offices and retail

Offices and shops tend to need the work done outside opening hours to keep the space open.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits slow the build-up between visits. Our tips:

  • Wipe grilles and diffusers during routine cleaning
  • Report leaks or damp near ceilings and risers
  • Switch the ventilation off or cover grilles during dusty building work
  • Diary the next TR19® Air inspection

Before any works, think about the ducts. Switch it off or cover the grilles while dusty work goes on.

Regular inspection is the core of TR19® Air. Inspecting on a schedule catches build-up before it becomes a big clean.

How the visit works

When we arrive, we check the system against the survey or the pictures you sent. If anything is different, we talk it through with the person on site before carrying on. After that, the work takes a shift or two for a small system, longer for a whole building. Evenings, weekends or a closed day all work for a site in a place like Northam.

  1. First the system is surveyed, on site or from pictures and drawings.
  2. We inspect inside the ductwork at set points and photograph it.
  3. The area below is protected and the system switched off.
  4. Debris is cleared from the duct runs, then grilles and diffusers are cleaned.
  5. We issue a TR19® certificate and a photo report listing what was cleaned.

Before we arrive

  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use
  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
  • Find the previous report, if there is one

Common problems we fix in Northam

Ductwork is hidden above ceilings and in risers, so nobody sees the build-up. Grilles may be wiped, but the ducts behind them rarely are.

Most sites get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Toilet and washroom extracts full of fluff
  • Damp or stale smells from grilles
  • Systems missing access panels
  • Stuffy rooms and stale air

If you manage offices or shops near Bitterne station, their ventilation can be inspected and cleaned out of hours.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
  • Whether VAT is included
  • Whether they recommend a next date
  • Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report

Choosing a duct cleaning contractor

Multi-site and managed buildings

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements, and we will send a fixed quote.

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.
