About our ventilation duct cleaning in Broughton Crossing
TR19® Air is the part of BESA’s TR19® that deals with general supply and extract ventilation. It’s risk-based and inspection-led, so every job starts with a look inside the ducts. If you have ductwork with too few access panels to clean and extract ducts clogged with lint and dust, we can put it right, from toilet extract systems, grilles and diffusers and general extract ductwork onwards.
In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, where filters and drain trays get forgotten.
Every visit ends with a written report and photos, so there’s a dated record of the work. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What your team can do, and what needs us
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, and that’s where we come in.
Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.
FAQs for Broughton Crossing
Do you cover smaller places like Broughton Crossing?
Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Broughton Crossing included. Photos of the system and directions to the site help us plan the visit.
Can ventilation in schools around Broughton Crossing be cleaned out of term?
Yes. The holidays are the usual time for school work. Food Standards Agency records list about 13 schools, colleges and universities with registered kitchens within about a mile and a half of Broughton Crossing. Booking early in the term gives the best choice of holiday dates.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work and have been trading since 2009.
Do you provide a report?
Yes, a TR19® certificate and pictures. The report lists what was cleaned, anything not reached and the next inspection date.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a small pub to a hospital. We work with hotels, schools, care homes, offices, retail and leisure sites.
Are grilles and diffusers included?
Yes. Grilles and diffusers are cleaned as part of the job, so dust isn’t left at the outlets.
How do you protect the area?
By covering it before any work starts. We keep the work contained and clean down when we finish.
What information do you need?
Some pictures and a quick description of the system, with the address and opening hours. If we need more, we’ll ask.
Part by part
Supply ductwork
Supply runs are inspected at set points first to see where cleaning is needed.
Schools and colleges
We plan the work around the school calendar, with access agreed with the caretaker or site manager.
Keeping the system healthy
Simple habits between visits make a real difference. We recommend:
- Get leaks near ductwork fixed quickly
- Keep filters changed on time
- Include grilles in the cleaning rota
- Do not run the ventilation while builders are sanding or cutting
We recommend when the system should next be inspected, based on what we found. Put it in the diary now so it does not slip.
TR19® Air works through regular inspection. Inspecting on a schedule catches build-up before it becomes a big clean.
Fixed quotes for ventilation duct cleaning in Broughton Crossing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- Parking and loading at the site
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- Whether several sites go on one quote
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Problems in a system tend to grow, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you are unsure, ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed quote.
What we need to know
When you contact us, it’s useful to have:
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
- The postcode and the type of business
- A few general shots of the system
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your photos and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. After that, you get a fixed price for the work so you know the cost before we start.
Honest limits
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Grease in kitchen extract systems, cleaned to TR19® Grease instead
- Controls and BMS faults that affect the system
- Design problems with the ductwork layout
If in doubt, call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we will say what we think before booking.
Parts of the system we cover

How the visit works
Each visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, make the system safe, carry out the ventilation duct cleaning, clear away and hand over the paperwork. On site, the work takes a day or less for a small system and a series of visits for a large one. If you can send pictures, we can arrive in Broughton Crossing knowing what to expect.
- First the system is surveyed, on site or from pictures and drawings.
- We inspect inside the ductwork at set points and photograph it.
- We protect the rooms beneath and switch the system off.
- Debris is cleared from the duct runs, then grilles and diffusers are cleaned.
- You get a TR19® certificate and photo report, with any unreached sections noted.
Preparing for the visit
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Find the previous report, if there is one
- Clear loose items from the work area
How to get a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
