TR19 inspection near Quainton

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

A few tasks are always specialist work: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

TR19 inspection in Quainton, done properly

BESA’s minimum cleaning frequencies depend on how long the kitchen cooks each day: heavy use (12 to 16 hours a day) every 3 months, moderate use (6 to 12 hours) every 6 months and light use (2 to 6 hours) every 12 months. Grease testing shows whether your kitchen needs cleaning more often than that. Common call-outs are for ductwork where grease may be over the TR19 limits and post-clean verification after another contractor’s clean, on insurer audits, access surveys and pre-clean surveys.

In a small place like Quainton, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. We agree access and timings in advance.

Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured. We’re also a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Your questions about TR19 inspection in Quainton

Do you work overnight in Quainton?

Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. The site is handed back ready to open. Just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.

Which fire authority looks after Quainton?

That’s Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. TR19® isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark many fire officers and insurers look to when they ask how often the extract is cleaned.

How much notice should we give?

Earlier is better, especially for out-of-hours work. Quotes normally come back within one working day, and emergencies are covered by our 24/7 line.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes, 24/7. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and the emergency line covers the rest.

What happens to the waste?

We contain it and take it with us. We collect grease, debris and waste water as we go rather than letting it spread.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

We cover floors and nearby surfaces with sheeting before any work starts, and waste is contained as we go. At the end, the area is cleaned down.

How much does TR19 inspection cost?

The cost depends on the size of the system, its condition, access and timing. Ask us for a fixed quote and we’ll usually reply within one working day.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. The Vent Hygiene Elite scheme is run by BESCA and audited independently.

Multi-site and managed buildings

Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: a survey first, a fixed quote, the work timed around the site and a report with photos.

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Every visit ends with a dated report and photos, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.

What we are called out for in Quainton

Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers look to TR19® as the benchmark. It isn’t legislation; the legal duty comes from the Fire Safety Order 2005, under which the responsible person must reduce fire risk, and in a kitchen that means keeping grease under control.

These are the problems we see most often:

  • Surveys needed before quoting a full clean
  • Missing TR19 certificates or history
  • Systems cleaned on a calendar with no measurements
  • An insurer’s request for a TR19 audit

Historic houses near Quainton, such as Waddesdon Manor about 2.3 miles south, are a reminder that older buildings with event kitchens can have long, awkward duct routes.

Questions to ask before you book

Leave it or put it right?

A pre-clean survey avoids surprises on the night. Access problems are spotted in advance rather than on the night, so the clean covers the whole system. Rural sites cannot always move to another kitchen or room when something fails.

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

What you get with us

The process

Protection comes first: floors, worktops and anything near the work are covered. Then we make the system safe and start. It takes a couple of hours for a typical kitchen extract system, and we clear up before we go. For a village or hamlet like Quainton, tell us about narrow lanes, gates and parking when you book.

  1. Post-clean verification is booked once the clean is done.
  2. We open the access points used on the clean.
  3. We repeat the WFTT or DTT readings.
  4. Photos are taken to show the condition after the clean.
  5. The results are reported, with anything missed flagged.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Clear the space around the work

Get a fixed quote

To get a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. We typically come back within one working day.

Advice

Between visits

After the visit, a few habits help the work last:

  • Flag changes in how much frying the kitchen does
  • Store grease readings where your insurer can see them
  • Keep grease filters clean and fitted properly
  • Book the next test on the date in the report

Keep the verification report next to the certificate it relates to. Together they show the system was cleaned and checked.

Keep certificates, reports and readings in one place so the history is easy to show.

What TR19 inspection cannot fix

We’d rather tell you now than book work that will not help, so here are the limits:

  • Sections with no access, until panels are fitted
  • The responsible person’s own fire risk assessment
  • Design faults in the extract system

If you are not sure, just ring 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

TR19 inspection around Quainton

We cover Quainton, about 44 miles from central London, as part of our work across London and the South East. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so the visit fits around the site. Kitchens in Quainton get their food hygiene inspections from Buckinghamshire council. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.

If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like St John's Hospital about 5.3 miles south, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. Volunteers running a hall kitchen near Church of St Mary and the Holy Cross, or anywhere in Quainton, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it.

Quainton is about 6 miles north-west of Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire. We provide TR19 inspection for businesses, landlords and public buildings in Quainton and the rest of Buckinghamshire.
