TR19 inspection across High Easter

Part by part

Horizontal duct runs

Bends and long runs can hold heavy deposits, well away from where anyone looks.

Extract fan and discharge

A greasy fan works harder and wears faster. Readings show if it needs attention before the next clean.

TR19 inspection in High Easter, done properly

Under TR19® Grease, the mean grease thickness should stay at or below 200 microns between cleans, and 500 microns or more at any point needs immediate spot cleaning. Testing is how you know where your system stands. Typical jobs include confirming a clean reached the whole system and kitchens taken over with no cleaning records, on deposit thickness tests, insurer audits and pre-clean surveys.

In a village or hamlet like High Easter, the kitchens that need extract cleaning are normally a pub, a school, a care home or a hall kitchen, wherever there is one. Every one of them still needs its extract kept clear of grease.

We’re CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we’re fully insured. On top of that, we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

Signs you need TR19 inspection in High Easter

TR19® is the benchmark that insurers, fire officers and EHOs refer to. It is not legislation; the legal duty comes from the Fire Safety Order 2005, under which the responsible person must reduce fire risk, and in a kitchen that means keeping grease under control.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Sites with gaps in their extract records
  • Insurance renewals needing proof of TR19 cleaning
  • Parts of the system left out of past cleans
  • Kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings

If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Broomfield Hospital about 5.1 miles south-east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen.

When something else is needed

TR19 inspection cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It does not solve:

  • Mechanical faults in the extract
  • Installation problems, which fall under design guidance such as DW172
  • Sections with no access, until panels are fitted

Not sure which it is? You can call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will tell you honestly before you book.

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool before we start, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes an hour or two for a single kitchen, longer for a large or complex system. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in High Easter before we set off.

  1. The visit is arranged for when the kitchen isn’t busy.
  2. The system is checked from canopy to discharge.
  3. Grease readings are taken at set points using WFTT or DTT.
  4. We photograph the test points and record any sections we can’t reach.
  5. We send a report setting out the readings, photos and next steps.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions
  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive

Getting a quote

There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To get going, ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

Advice

What affects the cost of TR19 inspection

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • The size of the system
  • The condition we find in the survey
  • Site rules, permits and inductions

You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll explain what it covers.

What we need to know

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see

To help us quote: where the site is, what it is and its opening hours, a few photos and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Then call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

Grease, kitchens and High Easter

High Easter is about 29 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. A survey and a fixed quote come first, then the visit at a time that suits you. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service covers High Easter. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises.

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Parish Church of St Mary or elsewhere in High Easter, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.

High Easter is about 7 miles north-west of Chelmsford, in Essex. Sites in High Easter get the same service as everywhere we cover: a survey first, a fixed quote, work timed around your hours and a report with pictures. High Easter is one of 644 towns, villages and districts in Essex we cover for TR19 inspection. There’s also a page for Chelmsford, roughly 7 miles from High Easter.

Every address in CM1 is covered for TR19 inspection, from the main roads to the quietest streets. High Easter: your questions answered

Is High Easter within the area you cover?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A survey first, from photos or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.

Can the work in High Easter be done at night or at weekends?

Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. The site is handed back ready to open. Just call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with your opening times and we will plan around them.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Scheduled maintenance plans are part of what we do, set at the interval the system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.

Are you accredited?

We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for anything that cannot wait until a planned visit. Ring any time and tell us what’s happened.

What grease levels does TR19 allow?

Two figures matter: a mean of no more than 200 microns between cleans, and 500 microns at any single point, which needs immediate spot cleaning. Our report sets your readings against both.

How much does TR19 inspection cost?

Size, condition, access and working hours all affect the cost. Ask us for a fixed quote, normally ready within one working day.

What happens to the waste?

We contain it and take it with us. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on, so it doesn’t spread.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

If your staff spot something between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.

Staff cleaning doesn’t replace a specialist visit; it supports it. Clean filters and tidy surfaces slow the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Why act early in High Easter

Post-clean verification shows whether the system was left the way the certificate says, while there’s still time to put anything right. Somewhere as small as High Easter, losing a kitchen or building to a fault is felt by everyone who uses it.

No two sites are the same, so we price each one individually. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.
