- Grime in corners that pests could exploit
- A floor that daily mopping no longer gets clean
Kitchen deep cleaning in Itchen
Think of a deep clean as a full check-up for the kitchen. The hidden corners get as much attention as the obvious ones and leave the kitchen ready to cook. From there, the daily routine is easier to keep up. The work covers stainless steel surfaces, walls and ceilings and fryers and grills, and the jobs we see most are grease stains on walls near the cooking line and a kitchen that needs a clean start.
In a smaller place like Itchen, commercial kitchens are more likely to be a pub, a café, a takeaway or a school or care home kitchen. A smaller kitchen still builds up grease where everyday cleaning doesn’t reach.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a dated report with pictures of the work, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. It shows what was done and what, if anything, couldn’t be reached.

Aftercare tips
So the system stays in good health:
- Clean spills while they’re fresh, before they bake on
- Repair worn surfaces that trap grime
- Keep a cleaning log up to date
- Book deep cleans on a regular cycle
It’s easy to set the next date while we are there. A regular cycle means the kitchen never falls far behind between inspections.
Setting deep cleans on a regular cycle keeps the kitchen in good health. Combining them with extract cleans keeps the whole kitchen on track.

When something else is needed
We’ll always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what kitchen deep cleaning will not do:
- A blocked or overflowing grease trap
- The inside of the extract system
- Cracked tiles or damaged wall cladding
Not sure which it is? You can phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.
Parts of the system we cover
- Walls and ceilings
- Behind and under equipment
- Stainless steel surfaces
- Ranges and ovens
- Fryers and grills
- Floors and floor drains
What happens if it’s left?
Grime behind and under equipment can attract pests. A deep clean takes away the food source, which is far better than dealing with an infestation. Even a site near Itchen that is only busy part of the week needs its system checked on a schedule.
What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why every job is surveyed first, and why the quote is fixed before we start.

For landlords and multi-site operators
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.
When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We are happy to deal with either side and send the paperwork to whoever needs it.
What affects the cost of kitchen deep cleaning
Sites vary more than people expect. The main factors:
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
- Whether several sites go on one quote
- Travel, parking and unloading
- The times the site is available
Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, which can make the next visit longer. If you’re unsure, call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line for straight advice and a fixed quote.
What we need to know
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. The most useful are:
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
Want a quote for kitchen deep cleaning? Please call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and tell us about the site. We’ll explain what we’d do and send a fixed quote before you commit to anything.
The process
We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before we start, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the kitchen. Because the survey comes first, a visit to Itchen can typically be finished without a second trip.
- We start by agreeing which areas and equipment are in the clean.
- Appliances are switched off to cool while we protect the areas that need it.
- High surfaces are cleaned first so dirt does not fall on clean areas.
- Equipment is cleaned inside and out, along with the areas behind and underneath it.
- Floors are cleaned last and the kitchen is left ready for the next service.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us where we can park and unload
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms

Advice
Common questions in Itchen
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in Itchen?
Food hygiene inspections in Itchen are carried out by Southampton council. Inspection results feed into the food hygiene rating published by the Food Standards Agency.
Can you get to a site in Itchen?
Yes. Itchen is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Photos of the system and directions to the site help us plan the visit.
What is TR19?
It’s the industry benchmark for cleaning ventilation and kitchen extract systems, written by BESA. It sets out inspection, cleaning and record keeping, and it takes a risk-based approach.
How do you keep the site clean during the work?
We cover floors and nearby surfaces with sheeting before we start, and waste is contained as we go. At the end, the area is cleaned down.
Will you tell us when the next visit is due?
Yes. We put a recommended next date on the report. BESA’s minimum intervals for kitchen extracts range from 3-monthly for heavy use to 12-monthly for light use, while fire dampers are tested at least annually.
When can you do the deep clean?
The visit is planned around when you cook. Overnight, early morning and weekend cleans are all possible so you do not lose a service.
What does commercial kitchen deep cleaning cost?
Every kitchen is different, so we quote once we know what’s involved. You get a fixed quote, typically within one working day.
Can you clean the extract at the same time?
Yes. Both can be done on the same visit or close together, depending on the size of the job.
