- Sinks that drain slowly
- A small trap that fills too quickly
Grease trap cleaning in Pyrford Village
Grease trap cleaning keeps the drains running and the smells away. The fat, oil, grease and solids are taken out, clean the inside and the baffles, and check the trap is working properly. If you have a kitchen drain that smells and drains clogged with fat, we can put it right, from school and care home kitchens, inline grease traps and kitchen waste pipes onwards.
In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, and fat getting past a grease trap can cause real trouble there.
For insurers and inspectors, the record counts. That’s why every job is written up in a report with pictures, plus a TR19® certificate through the BESCA VHE portal where the work is a TR19® Grease clean.

What grease trap cleaning cannot fix
We’d rather tell you now than book work that will not help, so here are the limits:
- Drains that need jetting rather than trap cleaning
- A trap undersized for the amount of cooking
- Blockages further down the drainage network
If in doubt, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we will say what we think.
What the work covers
- Restaurants and takeaways
- Under-sink grease traps
- Inline grease traps
- Kitchen waste pipes
- Pot wash sinks
- School and care home kitchens
How the visit works
Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and it goes on the report too. All told, the work takes a short visit for a small trap and longer for an inline unit or interceptor. Somewhere as small as Pyrford Village, the date and timings are agreed with you well before the day.
- We find the trap and check how it’s connected.
- Nothing drains into the trap while it’s open.
- We take out the layer of fat, oil and grease and any solids.
- We clean the chambers, baffles and connections.
- We put it back together, run water through and remove the waste.
Preparing for the visit
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Clear loose items from the work area
- Let us know when the site is closed or quiet

Questions from Pyrford Village
Do you work in villages like Pyrford Village?
Yes, we work in villages as well as towns, and Pyrford Village is covered. A survey first, from photos or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in Pyrford Village?
The local authority for Pyrford Village is Woking council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. An officer may look behind equipment and at drains, so it pays to have the deep clean booked before those areas build up.
Which sectors do you work in?
Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a single café to a large school. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.
Does the report say when we need you again?
Yes. How often depends on use and condition and the report sets out why.
What do you do to protect the area?
Floors and surfaces near the work are sheeted before any work starts, and anything we remove is contained. Before we leave, we tidy up and clean down.
What happens if you cannot reach some of it?
They’re marked on the report. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, and we can fit those.
What should go in our maintenance log?
Each report and certificate we give you, filed in the maintenance log, along with your own cleaning log. BESA advises that certificates record the date, location and technician.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes, day and night, every day of the year. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with the emergency line covering every other hour.
What affects the cost of grease trap cleaning
The quote reflects the site in front of us. We consider:
- Travel, parking and unloading
- What state the system is in
- Whether several sites go on one quote
- One-off work versus a regular cycle
You won’t find a price list here, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll talk you through it.
Helping us quote
You don’t need the technical terms. Just send:
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
- Wide photos of the system and the area around it
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- The site address and the type of premises
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
How the job changes from site to site
Baffles and outlets
Every clean includes the baffles, inlet and outlet so the trap works as it should.
Under-sink grease traps
Under-sink traps are cleaned in a short visit and check the seal on the lid.
What staff can safely do
Staff cleaning and specialist work aren’t the same thing. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.
Some jobs should never be done in-house: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.
For landlords and multi-site operators
We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Where a system serves more than one tenant, such as a shared riser, it helps to agree who arranges the work, and we are happy to quote for all of it.
Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across Surrey. Work can be phased by floor, building or site around the people who use them.
Pyrford Village kitchens: local notes
Food Standards Agency data counts about 18 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens and about 3 takeaways and sandwich shops within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Pyrford Village. Kitchens like these wash fat, oil and grease down the sink every day, and a grease trap is what stops it reaching the sewer. In Pyrford Village, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Woking council. They look at the cleanliness of the whole kitchen: walls, floors, ceilings and equipment. Photos and dates from each deep clean make a useful record.
Half-term is a good time for school kitchens, at schools like Pyrford Church of England Primary School for instance, to have the grease trap emptied and the kitchen deep cleaned. Where a church or community hall near St Nicholas's Church, or anywhere in Pyrford Village, has a kitchen used by volunteers, a periodic deep clean keeps it ready for the next event. Historic houses such as Byfleet Manor (about 2.3 miles north-east) are part of the area around Pyrford Village, and if you run event catering at a venue like that, a deep clean between seasons helps.

Why deal with it now?
Pests are drawn to grease and food waste. Keeping the trap clean removes something they’re looking for as part of a clean kitchen. If the system at a site near Pyrford Village fails, there may be nowhere nearby to move to.
Every site is different, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all play a part.
