About our grease trap cleaning in Pyrford

Smells from the sink, gurgling drains or slow drainage all point to the grease trap. In Pyrford, as everywhere we work, our team empties and cleans the trap, then check the water flows properly. Typical jobs include washing-up water that won’t drain away and foul odours from the grease trap, on school and care home kitchens, inline grease traps and pot wash sinks.

Work in a smaller place like Pyrford is planned around your opening hours, and the journey is planned ahead.

We are CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we are fully insured. On top of that, we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before work begins, and the area around the work is covered and protected. The work itself takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. Around Pyrford, access is normally simpler than in a town centre, though gates and roof access are worth mentioning.

  1. We find the trap and check how it’s connected.
  2. We ask for the sinks that drain into the trap not to be used.
  3. Built-up fat, oil and grease is removed from the trap.
  4. The inside, baffles and pipe connections are cleaned.
  5. Once it’s refitted, water is run through to check it drains, and we take the waste with us.

Advice

What grease trap cleaning looks like in Pyrford

According to Food Standards Agency records, there are about 6 bars, pubs and nightclubs in Pyrford and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out. Pub and hotel kitchens get the same build-up behind equipment and in the grease trap as any other. It’s Woking council that sends environmental health officers to food businesses in Pyrford. The state of floors, drains and hard-to-reach corners all feeds into the inspection. A record of each deep clean helps show the kitchen is kept in order.

A summer deep clean suits schools such as Pyrford Church of England Primary School, as the kitchen can be stripped back with no lunches to serve. Hall and church kitchens, near Church of the Good Shepherd or anywhere around Pyrford, are used by many hands, and periodic deep cleans and grease trap visits keep them in order.

What a clean will not put right

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work cannot put right:

  • Plumbing leaks around the sink
  • Blockages further down the drainage network
  • Grease set hard in the drain run

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Where we work

  • School and care home kitchens
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • Pot wash sinks
  • Inline grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Restaurants and takeaways

Why act early in Pyrford

A full grease trap lets grease through to the drains. There it sets and narrows the pipe until water cannot get through. Regular trap cleaning beats dealing with a blockage. A planned visit to Pyrford fits your hours; an emergency does not.

What you pay depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

Why us?

Your questions about grease trap cleaning in Pyrford

Do you work in villages like Pyrford?

Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Pyrford included. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.

Can you work in Pyrford outside opening hours?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. That way a site in Pyrford doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with your opening times and we will plan around them.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, fully. CHAS and SafeContractor accreditation sit alongside it, for sites that check contractor safety.

Can you set up regular visits?

Yes. We run scheduled maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system needs. The report from each visit recommends the next date.

Are you accredited?

Our accreditations are CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. Vent Hygiene Elite is run by BESCA and independently audited.

What happens if you cannot reach some of it?

They’re listed in the report, never skipped quietly. The report says which parts couldn’t be reached and why, and we can quote to improve the access.

Why does a grease trap need regular cleaning?

A full trap can’t catch any more grease. The grease hardens in the pipes, leading to blocked drains and smells, and can add to fatbergs in the sewer.

How often should a grease trap be cleaned?

It depends on the size of the trap and how busy the kitchen is. A small trap fills more quickly than a large one, and busy kitchens fill them faster still. We will recommend a schedule once we have seen it.

Do you need grease trap cleaning in Pyrford?

The more a kitchen cooks and washes up, the quicker the trap fills. Traps sized for lighter use can fill very quickly when trade picks up.

Common reasons sites call us include:

  • A kitchen drain that smells
  • A regular cleaning plan for the grease trap
  • An under-sink unit that needs regular emptying
  • An interceptor full of grease and solids

If you run event catering at a historic house or estate in the area (Byfleet Manor is about 2.2 miles east), a deep clean before or after the busy season is worth planning.

Before booking anyone

  • How areas they cannot reach will be recorded

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it helps at the next visit:

  • Keep access to the trap clear
  • Never pour used oil down the sink
  • Let us know if the kitchen gets busier
  • Report slow or smelly sinks early

Scrape plates into the bin before washing up. Sink strainers help catch solids so less solid waste gets through.

An overfull trap lets grease pass. Cleaning it before it’s full keeps grease out of the drains and avoids a blockage.

How the job changes from site to site

School, care home and staff kitchens

School kitchens can be cleaned in the holidays or after lunch service.

Inline grease traps

Inline traps may be under a floor panel or in a cupboard. We check how to reach it before the visit.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Staff cleaning does not replace a specialist visit; it supports it. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.
