Grease trap cleaning in Felbridge

Grease trap cleaning in Felbridge, done properly

Smells from the sink, gurgling drains or slow drainage all point to the grease trap. In Felbridge, as everywhere we work, our team empties and cleans the trap, then check the water flows properly. Common call-outs are for a blocked kitchen drain caused by grease and a kitchen drain that smells, across school and care home kitchens, pot wash sinks and inline grease traps.

In a village or hamlet like Felbridge, commercial kitchens are few, perhaps a pub, a school or a care home. Each still needs the occasional deep clean and its grease trap kept clear.

Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

Why act early in Felbridge

For a kitchen in Felbridge, a regular grease trap clean is a small, planned job. A blocked drain is an emergency and typically at the worst moment. Equipment tucked in a roof space or outbuilding near Felbridge rarely gets looked at unless someone books it.

Combining work into one visit or one programme often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at, and you will get one fixed quote.

Commercial kitchens in Felbridge

Look up Felbridge on the FSA’s food hygiene register and you will find about 9 restaurants, cafés and canteens and about 3 sandwich bars and takeaways within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Felbridge. Each of them sends fat, oil and grease towards the drain, which is why grease traps need regular emptying. Kitchens in Felbridge get their food hygiene inspections from Tandridge council. An inspection covers the structure of the kitchen as well as the food. Having the dates of the last deep clean to hand saves digging for them on the day. Felbridge is about 25 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. Visits are booked around your hours, evenings and weekends included.

Saint Hill Manor, about 2.5 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses around Felbridge; event kitchens at places like that work in bursts, so a deep clean after a busy season helps. For schools such as Felbridge Primary School, deep cleans and grease trap work are usually booked for the holidays. Where a church or community hall near St John's Felbridge, or anywhere in Felbridge, has a kitchen used by volunteers, a periodic deep clean keeps it ready for the next event.

Felbridge is about 2 miles north-west of East Grinstead, in West Sussex. Felbridge gets the same approach as every site we work on: diagnosis first, a fixed price, out-of-hours working where needed and a written report with photos. Our area takes in 371 places across West Sussex, large and small. We also work in Brighton, about 21 miles from Felbridge.

All of RH19 is within our area for grease trap cleaning, from the main roads to the quietest streets. Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across West Sussex. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

Felbridge questions

Can you get to a site in Felbridge?

Yes, Felbridge is part of our area, however small the site. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Can a school kitchen in Felbridge be done out of term time?

Yes. Half-terms and the summer break are the natural time for school work. Food Standards Agency records list about 5 schools, colleges and universities with registered kitchens within about a mile and a half of Felbridge. Booking early in the term gives the best choice of holiday dates.

What is TR19?

TR19® is the BESA specification for keeping ventilation systems clean. Since 2019, TR19® Grease has been a standalone specification for grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.

Can one contract cover all our sites?

Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so we can schedule a run of sites as one programme. Each site gets its own report and pictures.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, fully. CHAS and SafeContractor accreditation sit alongside it, for sites that check contractor safety.

Will you tell us when the next visit is due?

Yes. The report recommends when the next visit should be, based on use and what we found.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes, day and night, every day of the year. Our office is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, and the emergency line covers the rest.

Will cleaning the grease trap fix a blocked drain?

We clean the trap, not the drain network. If the drain beyond the trap is blocked or damaged, we will tell you and suggest a drainage contractor.

The process

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before any work starts, and the area around the work is covered and protected. The work itself takes an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap. A few photos of the system help us make the most of a visit to a place like Felbridge.

  1. First, we locate the grease trap and look at the pipework around it.
  2. We ask for the sinks that drain into the trap not to be used.
  3. Built-up fat, oil and grease is removed from the trap.
  4. We clean the chambers, baffles and connections.
  5. The trap is reassembled, checked for leaks and the waste taken away.

How to prepare

  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
  • Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms

Advice

Honest limits

We’d rather tell you now than book work that will not help, so these are the things it will not cover:

  • Collapsed or damaged drains, which need a drainage contractor
  • Plumbing leaks around the sink
  • Blockages in the public sewer beyond the property

If you are not sure, just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will give you a straight answer.

Where we work

  • Pot wash sinks
  • School and care home kitchens
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Inline grease traps
  • Restaurants and takeaways
  • Under-sink grease traps

What your team can do, and what needs us

For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.

When your team notices a problem between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that will not come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.

Fixed quotes for grease trap cleaning in Felbridge

Your quote is based on your site. We take into account:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing
  • The number of sites or systems
  • The scale of the work

The cost depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and how easy it is to reach. You get a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.

Helping us quote

You don’t need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:

  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see
  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to

Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Call or email with a few details and you’ll normally have a fixed price within one working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits the site.

Under-sink grease traps

An under-sink trap is out of sight. A full one shows itself with a slow, smelly sink.
