About our grease trap cleaning in Dunk's Green
Every trap is different. Under-sink traps are compact and need frequent attention and larger traps hold more grease before they fill. We assess the trap and how fast it fills and suggest an interval that suits. If you have foul odours from the grease trap and sinks that drain slowly, we can put it right.
In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, and fat getting past a grease trap can cause real trouble there.
Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

What happens if it’s left?
Wherever the kitchen is in Dunk's Green, backed-up drains stop it working. Water won’t drain away, and dirty water can back up. Keeping the trap clean reduces the risk. Out of sight is the usual reason a rural system goes too long without attention.
You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. For a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, and we will talk you through it.

Dunk's Green: your questions answered
Do you work overnight in Dunk's Green?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. Your customers, staff or residents in Dunk's Green needn’t be disturbed. When you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email, mention when the site is quiet.
Do you clean school kitchens in Dunk's Green in the summer holidays?
Yes, holiday work suits schools best. The FSA’s register shows about 3 schools and colleges with food registrations within roughly a mile and a half of Dunk's Green. Send us your term dates when you call us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos, and we’ll fit the work in.
What happens to the waste?
It’s contained and taken away. We collect grease, debris and waste water as we go rather than letting it spread.
What if parts of the system can’t be reached?
The report shows them clearly. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, and we can fit those.
What’s TR19?
TR19® is BESA’s specification for ventilation hygiene. TR19® Grease, a standalone specification since 2019, covers grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.
Do you work with multi-site operators?
Yes. Tell us the addresses and what each needs and we’ll quote them together.
Who has the legal duty for fire safety?
It depends on the building. Under the Fire Safety Order 2005, it’s the responsible person, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, facilities manager or managing agent.
Which sectors do you work in?
Restaurants and pubs, hotels, schools and colleges, hospitals and care homes, offices and retail, as well as food production and leisure sites.
Do you need grease trap cleaning in Dunk's Green?
The more a kitchen cooks and washes up, the quicker the trap fills. A trap that suited a quieter kitchen can fill very quickly when trade picks up.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- A routine grease trap service
- An interceptor full of grease and solids
- A small trap that fills too quickly
- A slow-draining kitchen sink
If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Plaxtol Church or elsewhere in Dunk's Green, a deep clean and an emptied grease trap before a busy season of events are worth booking.
Before booking anyone

- Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
- What hours they’ll be on site
- If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate
What grease trap cleaning can’t fix
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Drains that are cracked or have collapsed
- Blockages in the public sewer beyond the property
- Drains that need jetting rather than trap cleaning
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think.
Where we work
- Inline grease traps
- Restaurants and takeaways
- Pot wash sinks
- School and care home kitchens
- Kitchen waste pipes
- Under-sink grease traps
What the work involves, part by part
Grease interceptors
Interceptors separate grease the same way, on a larger scale. Grease floats and solids sink.
Inline grease traps
An inline trap sits in the pipework between the kitchen and the drain. They’re larger than under-sink traps but still need regular emptying.
What happens on the day
The first job on site is protection: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. Then we make the system safe and start. The work on site takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit, and we clear up before we go. Seeing the system in photos first means the trip to Dunk's Green can be planned properly.
- A visit is booked around your service.
- We open the trap and look at its condition.
- We remove the grease layer and settled solids.
- The inside, baffles and outlet are cleaned.
- We close it up, check it drains and suggest when it needs cleaning again.
Before we arrive
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
- Clear loose items from the work area
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
Getting a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Add the site type and your opening hours, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

What your team can do, and what needs us
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
When your team notices a problem between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We can diagnose it and quote.
