Grease trap cleaning for sites in Bray

Fixed quotes for grease trap cleaning in Bray

The survey tells us what the work involves. The main factors are:

  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • A single visit or a regular plan
  • The condition of the system
  • Travel, parking and unloading

No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all make a difference.

What to send for a quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price the work. Useful things to send:

  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either from pictures and details you send or from a site visit. After that, you get a fixed price for the work, before any work starts.

Grease trap cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Bray

In Bray, we time grease trap visits so the sinks are not needed. The trap is emptied, cleaned and checked and remove the waste. It works on its own or with a deep clean or extract clean. The work covers pot wash sinks, kitchen waste pipes and restaurants and takeaways, and the jobs we see most are an overdue grease trap and drains that gurgle and bubble.

Work in a small place like Bray starts with agreeing a date and access.

Duct Doctor has been trading since 2009, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we are fully insured.

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. The timing of a visit to Bray is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.

  1. A visit is booked around your service.
  2. The trap is opened up and checked.
  3. We remove the grease layer and settled solids.
  4. The inside, baffles and outlet are cleaned.
  5. We close it up, check it drains and suggest when it needs cleaning again.

How to prepare

  • Have your last certificate or report to hand
  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids

What we are called out for in Bray

The more a kitchen cooks and washes up, the quicker the trap fills. Traps sized for lighter use can struggle when cooking increases.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A grease trap that hasn’t been emptied in a long time
  • A small trap that fills too quickly
  • Washing-up water that will not drain away
  • A regular cleaning plan for the grease trap

Dorney Court, about 1.3 miles east, is one of the historic houses around Bray; event kitchens at places like that work in bursts, so a deep clean after a busy season helps.

What your quote should include

  • Whether the price is fixed
  • What hours they’ll be on site
  • Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
  • What records you will receive afterwards

Our hiring checklist

Different parts, different methods

Restaurant and takeaway kitchens

Visits are booked when the sinks aren’t in use so you don’t lose trade.

Under-sink grease traps

Under-sink units are easy to forget. When they fill, the sink slows and starts to smell.

Multi-site and managed buildings

We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Windsor and Maidenhead. Larger estates can be phased building by building to keep disruption down.

Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: the system surveyed, the price fixed, the visit fitted around trading and everything written up afterwards.

What staff can safely do

When your team notices a problem between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that will not come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Bray questions

Can you get to a site in Bray?

Yes, Bray is part of our area, however small the site. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.

Do you work overnight in Bray?

Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. That way a site in Bray does not have to lose a day’s trading. When you call 0345 646 2711, or email photos, mention when the site is quiet.

What problems does a full grease trap cause?

An overfull trap lets grease into the drains. There it hardens on the pipe walls until they block. Regular cleaning prevents it.

Will you tell us when the next visit is due?

Yes. We put a recommended next date on the report. BESA’s minimum intervals for kitchen extracts range from 3-monthly for heavy use to 12-monthly for light use, and fire dampers need testing at least once a year.

How long will the sinks be out of use?

Each trap is a little different, and you can expect it to take an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap. We will confirm when we quote.

Which records should we keep?

Everything that shows the system is looked after: reports, certificates, photos and your own cleaning or check logs. One maintenance log per site keeps it simple.

What do you do with what you remove?

We contain it and take it with us. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on rather than letting it spread.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. Full insurance covers our work and have been trading since 2009.

What happens if it’s left?

Grease that gets past the trap does not disappear. It adds to blockages further down the drains and sewer. Keeping it in the trap, and emptying the trap, is the responsible thing to do. Somewhere as small as Bray, losing a kitchen or building to a fault is felt by everyone who uses it.

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Build-up, wear and faults tend to get worse, not better, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you’re not sure what’s needed, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email for straight advice and a fixed quote.

Commercial kitchens in Bray

The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 10 pubs and bars and about 7 hotels, B&Bs and guest houses within 1.5 miles or so of the middle of Bray. Pub and hotel kitchens get the same build-up behind equipment and in the grease trap as any other. In Bray, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Windsor and Maidenhead council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. A record of each deep clean helps show the kitchen is kept in order.

For schools such as Dorney School, deep cleans and grease trap work are normally booked for the holidays. Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as St Mark's Hospital (about 2.3 miles north-west), cook for long hours, so deep cleans and grease trap work are planned around patients’ meals.
