Selling grease filter exchange
A scheduled grease filter exchange, swapping dirty canopy filters for clean ones for businesses, landlords and public buildings in Selling. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and fully insured.
- Blocked baffle filters
- Filters that come out of the sink still dirty
- Drips falling from the filters onto equipment
What affects the cost of grease filter exchange
We don’t publish a price list, because sites vary so much. The quote depends on:
- One-off work versus a regular cycle
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
- How easy every part is to reach
- Any permits to work or inductions
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is all affect the cost. We take each of them into account and give you a fixed price before work begins.
What to send for a quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to have:
- Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow
- Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
Here’s what helps us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, a few pictures and any previous report or certificate. Then phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us.
Grease filter exchange in Selling, done properly
Whether your canopy has baffle or mesh filters, they load up with grease. Clogged filters choke the airflow and the fan has to work harder. Regular exchange keeps the air moving. The work covers wall canopies, school and hospital kitchens and baffle filters, and the jobs we see most are grease collecting in the filter channels and staff short of time to wash filters.
For a kitchen in or near Selling, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean covers the whole system, as it would anywhere: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.
We are CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we’re fully insured. We’re also a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Selling: your questions answered
Which fire authority looks after Selling?
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is the fire and rescue service for Selling. Records of extract cleaning are a sensible thing to have ready if a fire safety officer carries out an audit.
Can a school canteen extract in Selling be done out of term time?
Yes, out-of-term visits are normal for schools. There are about 2 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Selling. Booking early in the term gives the best choice of holiday dates.
Does the report say when we need you again?
Yes. Every report includes a recommended date for the next visit, based on what we found and how the system is used.
What accreditations do you have?
We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. The Vent Hygiene Elite scheme is run by BESCA and audited independently.
Do you provide a certificate or report?
Yes. You get a written report with photos after each visit, showing what was done, anything we couldn’t reach and when the next visit is due. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, there’s also a certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
How long does grease filter exchange take?
On site, it takes a short visit, depending on how many filters the canopies hold. Bigger or more complicated systems take longer, and the quote will say how long.
What should go in our maintenance log?
Anything that proves the system is maintained: our reports and pictures, any certificates and your in-house logs. A single log for each site works best.
How much notice should we give?
That depends on the slot you want and the size of the job. Tell us your preferred dates when you ask for a quote, and for anything urgent, ring our 24/7 emergency line.
Signs you need grease filter exchange in Selling
Long cooking hours in Selling or anywhere else mean more grease on the filters. Heavy daily use means fast build-up, so it needs more frequent changes.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Smoke and heat lingering under the hood
- Bent or damaged filters that don’t sit properly
- Blocked baffle filters
- Grease collecting in the filter channels
For kitchens close to Selling station, where the day often starts early and ends late, the extract can be cleaned overnight.

Honest limits
We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work can’t put right:
- Grease deep in the extract system
- Smell complaints that need odour control equipment
- A canopy too small for the cooking beneath it
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Parts of the system we cover

How it works
Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and the same goes into the written report. The visit takes a short visit, depending on how many filters the canopies hold. Seeing the system in photos first means the trip to Selling can be planned properly.
- First, we record the size, type and number of filters in each canopy.
- A change schedule is agreed to match the kitchen’s cooking hours.
- On each visit, the dirty filters come out of the canopy.
- We fit clean filters and check they sit snugly in the housing.
- Anything we notice, such as bent filters or a dirty plenum, is pointed out.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move anything stored near the system
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
- Arrange a key holder or contact on site
Ask for a quote
To get a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. We normally come back within one working day.

Why deal with it now?
In Selling, as everywhere, a filter service is not a substitute for TR19 cleaning. They do help keep the system in better shape between cleans, and that shows when the next clean comes round. With notice, the visit to Selling can be fitted around your bookings and events.
One small site or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. The price is fixed before we start.

Selling kitchens: local notes

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Church of St Mary or elsewhere in Selling, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. What the work involves, part by part
Busy restaurant and pub kitchens
High-output kitchens clog filters quickly. They often need the shortest exchange interval.
School, care home and staff kitchens
Kitchens that cook for set mealtimes still load their filters, though often more slowly.
Aftercare tips
No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:
- Book full TR19 cleans alongside filter changes
- Report a dripping canopy early
- Make sure no filter is left out
- Do not refit a filter that is bent
Nothing changes for your staff, except one less greasy job. Just keep the canopy clear for the next visit and let us know of any changes to opening hours.
Saturated filters let more grease through. Getting onto a regular exchange now keeps grease out of the plenum and ductwork until the next TR19 clean.
