Grease filter exchange for sites in Chilham

Grease filter exchange for kitchens and businesses in Chilham

Good filters only work when they fit properly. Bent, damaged or missing filters leave gaps and every filter is checked when we swap them. Damaged filters are flagged so they can be replaced. If you’re dealing with a canopy that drips grease and filters that leave gaps in the canopy, we can put it right.

In a small place like Chilham, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. Access, parking and timings are agreed before the day.

We have been trading since 2009, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

Keeping the system healthy

Simple habits between visits make a real difference. Our advice:

  • Keep canopy surfaces wiped down
  • Book full TR19 cleans alongside filter changes
  • Mention it if the kitchen gets busier
  • Report a dripping canopy early

We tell you if we spot anything in the canopy that needs attention. It can be a sign that a full TR19® clean is due, and we can arrange it.

Bent or missing filters let grease straight past. Replacing them early protects the plenum and ductwork.

Fixed quotes for grease filter exchange in Chilham

Every site gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Parking and loading at the site
  • Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • The size of the system

When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before we start.

Asking for a quote

Many jobs can be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:

  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • The postcode and the type of business

We don’t publish a price list, because every site is different. Instead, we look at your site first, from photos or a survey, then send a fixed quote. To start, phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.

What your team can do, and what needs us

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Grease filter exchange in Chilham: the local picture

The FSA’s food hygiene register shows about 3 restaurants, cafés and canteens in and around Chilham, up to about a mile and a half out. Any of those kitchens with a canopy relies on its filters to catch grease before it reaches the duct. Chilham sits within the area of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. In most workplaces, including commercial kitchens, it’s the fire and rescue authority that enforces the Fire Safety Order. In Chilham, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Ashford council. An officer looking round a kitchen will see the canopy, and grease there is hard to miss. Before-and-after pictures from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand.

If you run a café or takeaway near Chilham station, early starts and late finishes leave little time to clean, so overnight extract cleaning suits. Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as Kent and Canterbury Hospital (about 5.3 miles east), often cook for long hours, which puts them in BESA’s heavier-use bands. Church and community hall kitchens, near Church of St Mary or anywhere around Chilham, are easy to forget, but their extracts collect grease like any other.

Common questions in Chilham

Do you work in villages like Chilham?

Yes. Chilham is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.

Who is the fire and rescue service for Chilham?

Chilham is in the area of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Records of extract cleaning are a sensible thing to have ready if a fire safety officer carries out an audit.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

Where does the waste go?

It leaves the site with us at the end of the visit. While we work, it’s kept contained to keep the area clean.

Where do the greasy filters go?

They leave with us. That is how an exchange works: you always have a clean set fitted, with no washing for your team.

Which grease filters does the service cover?

Both baffle filters and mesh filters are covered. At the start, we note what your canopies use so the clean set always fits.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line, for problems that cannot wait. Ring any time and tell us what’s happened.

Can you set up regular visits?

Yes. Plans on a 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycle are available, depending on what the system needs.

Why it’s worth doing now in Chilham

In Chilham, as everywhere, a filter service is not a substitute for TR19 cleaning. But clean filters do help the system between cleans, and that shows when the next clean comes round. In a small place like Chilham, a system that fails can take a site out of use.

A single site or a whole portfolio, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and when. You’ll have a fixed price before we start.

What you get with us

  • Survey first, then a fixed quote
  • One contact for all your sites in London and the South East
  • A written report with photos after every visit
  • BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease

The process

The first job on site is protection: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. It takes anything from a few minutes to an hour or so, depending on the number of filters, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. If the van will struggle with a lane or gateway near Chilham, let us know and we will plan around it.

  1. We count and measure the filters in every canopy.
  2. We agree a schedule that suits how much the kitchen cooks.
  3. At each visit, the greasy filters are lifted out.
  4. Clean filters go straight back in, seated properly with no gaps.
  5. We flag any damaged filters or anything wrong with the canopy.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use

Advice

Part by part

The plenum

Clean filters reduce the grease reaching the plenum, but it’s still cleaned during a full TR19 clean.

Canopy filter housings

Grease collects in the channels and drip trays below the filters. We point it out if it needs cleaning.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We can quote either party, and the report can go to both.
