Grease filter exchange in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire
A scheduled grease filter exchange, swapping dirty canopy filters for clean ones in Chalgrove, surveyed first and signed off with a written report and photos. Call for a fixed quote.
- Gaps where filters have been removed
- Grease collecting in the filter channels
- Filters so greasy the air can barely pass
Multi-site and managed buildings
The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.
Whether it’s one building or many, you get the same standard: a survey first, a fixed quote, the work timed around the site and a report with photos.
Grease filter exchange for kitchens and businesses in Chalgrove
A clean set of filters is a simple, regular dose of prevention. It keeps airflow up and grease down between full cleans and takes a messy task off your team. Full TR19 cleaning still comes at the right interval, with a certificate. Common call-outs are for blocked baffle filters and filters left unwashed on busy weeks, across wall canopies, baffle filters and island canopies.
Size does not change the work: a kitchen in a place like Chalgrove gets the whole system cleaned, canopy to discharge. The visit is booked around your opening hours, and the journey is planned ahead.
Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. So every job comes with a written report and photos, plus a TR19® certificate through the BESCA VHE portal where the work is a TR19® Grease clean.

Do you need grease filter exchange in Chalgrove?
Missing filters are more common than you’d think. Every gap in the filter bank lets grease straight into the plenum and on into the ductwork.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Grease filters clogged with grease
- Drips falling from the filters onto equipment
- Smoke and heat lingering under the hood
- A greasy plenum behind the filters
If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Church of St Mary or elsewhere in Chalgrove, its extract still collects grease from every lunch and event.

Keeping the system healthy
How long the results last depends on use and care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Tell us if a filter is bent or damaged
- Report a dripping canopy early
- Keep filter exchange and TR19 cleaning on the same plan
- Keep every filter in place during service
Once the clean filters are in, the kitchen can cook right away. The dirty set leaves with us for cleaning.
Dripping filters are a clear sign they’re full. Changing them now reduces the fuel above the cooking and the plenum may need a clean as well.
Your questions about grease filter exchange in Chalgrove
Can you come to Chalgrove after we close?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. The site is handed back ready to open. Let us know the hours you are closed and we will book within them.
Can you get to a site in Chalgrove?
Yes. Chalgrove is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
How regularly do grease filters need exchanging?
It varies with the type and amount of cooking. If filters are dripping or clogging before the next change, it’s too long, and we can change it.
What’s TR19?
BESA’s ventilation hygiene specification in two main parts: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
What types of premises do you cover?
We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, as well as food production and leisure sites.
Do you provide a certificate or report?
Yes, always. It’s a dated, written report with pictures, plus a certificate via the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal for TR19® Grease cleans. File it with your fire safety records.
Do you deal with bent or broken filters?
A bent filter leaves a gap for grease. We flag any we find so they can be replaced.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We carry full insurance and have been trading since 2009.
Why act early in Chalgrove
For any kitchen in Chalgrove, filters cannot stand in for a full TR19 clean. But clean filters do help the system between cleans and the canopy and plenum stay cleaner. Systems on quieter sites still build up dirt and wear, just more slowly.
Several systems or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every system or site you need covered, and you’ll get one fixed quote.
Why us?
- A written report with pictures after every visit
- One number for every site across the South East and London
- Every job surveyed first
- Trading since 2009
Honest limits
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- A noisy or failed extract fan
- Odours from the discharge that filters will not stop
- Grease already built up in the ductwork, which needs a full TR19 clean
If you’re not sure, just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Parts of the system we cover
- Island canopies
- Restaurants and pubs
- Mesh filters
- School and hospital kitchens
- Wall canopies
- Baffle filters
The process
We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before work begins, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes a few minutes per canopy, longer for a large kitchen with several canopies. For a site near Chalgrove, the work is booked around your opening hours, evenings and weekends included.
- We start by noting how many filters you have and what type they are.
- Together we set how often the filters should be changed.
- On each visit, the dirty filters come out of the canopy.
- We fit clean filters and check they sit snugly in the housing.
- Anything we notice, such as bent filters or a dirty plenum, is pointed out.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
- Tell us where we can park and unload
- Find the previous report, if there is one
How to get a quote
We do not publish a price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, and then give you a fixed quote. To get going, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos.

Part by part
Busy restaurant and pub kitchens
Heavy cooking means more grease reaching every part of the system. Regular changes help protect the ductwork.
The plenum
With good filters, less grease ends up in the plenum, but it’s still cleaned during a full TR19 clean.
