Extract fan cleaning in Drayton
The fan is cleaned as part of every full TR19® Grease clean, but some fans need cleaning between full cleans, especially when it has started to vibrate or sound rough. A fan-only clean is recorded as exactly that. If you have grease stains around the discharge and a fan motor running hot under a coat of grease, we can help.
For a kitchen in or near Drayton, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.
Each visit ends with a written report and pictures, so there’s a dated record of the work. Kitchen extract cleaning to TR19® Grease is certificated through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Why deal with it now?
Grease on the impeller makes the fan less efficient. Less air is pulled from the kitchen, so heat and smoke linger, while the motor runs under more strain. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.
What you pay depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. We give you a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

What we do, step by step
There’s very little for your team to do on the day. A contact on site lets us in at the agreed time and points us to the system, and we take it from there. Afterwards, the area is left tidy and the written report follows. If you can send photos, we can arrive in Drayton knowing what to expect.
- We start by checking where the fan sits and how to isolate it.
- The fan is isolated so it can’t start while we work.
- Grease is scraped from the impeller blades and the inside of the housing.
- The fan and its surrounds are degreased, keeping clear of the motor’s electrics.
- It’s closed up, run and checked, and photos go into your report.
Before we arrive
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
Ask for a quote
To get a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. We typically come back within one working day.
Advice
Between visits
Looking after the system between visits is straightforward, and it makes the next visit easier:
- Report rattles or humming early
- Leave a clear route to the fan
- Check the report shows the fan was cleaned
- Never cook with a filter missing
The photo report shows the fan before and after cleaning. It lists what was cleaned and anything we couldn’t reach, along with the recommended next clean date.
Don’t run the kitchen with the extract off. Air that keeps moving carries vapour out rather than letting it settle, so keeping it running helps keep it clean.
What affects the cost of extract fan cleaning
You’ll get a fixed price before work begins. It’s based on:
- The number of sites or systems
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- Working hours and out-of-hours timing
- How easy every part is to reach
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is all affect the cost. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before work begins.
Helping us quote
You don’t need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:
- The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
Want a quote for extract fan cleaning? Please call us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and tell us about the site. We will talk you through the work and send you a fixed quote before you commit to anything.
Signs you need extract fan cleaning in Drayton
Poor filters mean a greasier fan. Missing, damaged or badly fitted filters let grease travel the whole system, so the fan takes far more than it should.
If you notice any of these, it’s worth a diagnosis:
- A fan that has never been cleaned
- A fan motor running hot under a coat of grease
- Rough running from the extract fan
- A fan shaking on its mounts
A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Church of St Peter or elsewhere in Drayton, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.
What to look for in a quote
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Whether the quote is based on a survey or photos
- Whether the figure could change on the day
- How VAT is shown on the quote
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
If you look after several sites, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Each site gets its own report and pictures, so each one has its own record.
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.

Who is responsible for fire safety on the premises?
The Fire Safety Order 2005 calls them the responsible person: often the employer, owner or occupier. Landlords, facilities managers and managing agents can also hold responsibility.

Kitchens in Drayton get their food hygiene inspections from Cherwell council. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. Our report lists what was cleaned and when, which is useful to have ready.
Bursars and site managers at schools such as North Oxfordshire Academy tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty. Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as Horton General Hospital (about 2.1 miles south-east), often cook for long hours, which puts them in BESA’s heavier-use bands.
