Duct cleaning in Radclive
Ductwork cleaning for businesses, landlords and public buildings in Radclive. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and fully insured.
- Grease seeping out of the duct seams
- Ductwork that has never been cleaned
- Heavy grease at the base of a riser
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Staff cleaning and specialist work aren’t the same thing. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Ductwork cleaning in Radclive
No two duct runs are the same, in Radclive or anywhere else. A few metres to an outside wall, or a riser up through the building to a roof fan. We map the route during the survey and finds every access point before we quote. If you’re dealing with years of grease along the duct floor and sections of duct with no access panels, we can put it right.
In a small place like Radclive, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, where grease settles in the flat sections. We agree access and timings in advance.
Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured. We’re also a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Aftercare tips
A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. Our advice:
- Run the extract fan throughout service
- Have the grease measured if cooking hours go up
- Keep to the interval on the report
- Flag drips from the duct straight away
Access panels are closed and sealed back up after cleaning, and the surrounding area is left clean. Grease and dirty water are contained and removed.
Book the next duct clean before the date passes. A change in cooking hours may change the interval under BESA guidance, and grease thickness testing will show it.
Managing agents and facilities teams in Radclive
The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.
Landlords, managing agents and facilities managers book us, not only the businesses that use the systems. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we’re happy to quote for all of it.
Leave it or put it right?
Dealing with the ductwork in Radclive now beats dealing with it after a problem. It takes anything from a few hours to several visits, depending on the length of duct, and we work evenings, overnight and weekends. In a place like Radclive, ductwork and fans are easy to forget until something goes wrong.
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before we start.

How the job changes from site to site
Attenuators and discharge
At the end of the duct is the discharge. Grease can collect there and stain the area around it, so it’s cleaned as far as safe access allows.
Access panels
After cleaning, every panel is closed and sealed, so grease and air stay inside the duct. A damaged panel is noted on the report.
When to call us in Radclive
Slow air leaves the most grease behind. Flat runs, bends, reducers and the base of risers are the usual hotspots, and those are the points we pay most attention to.
Look out for any of the following:
- An insurer asking for TR19 evidence
- Duct runs that cannot be reached
- Grease seeping out of the duct seams
- Smells of old cooking grease from the ductwork
Healthcare kitchens cannot easily close, so their extracts are cleaned overnight or between meal services; the nearest hospital to Radclive is Buckingham Community Hospital, about 1.3 miles east.
Before booking anyone

- Whether the work can be done while the site is closed
- What happens if part of the system can’t be accessed
- Proof of insurance
The process
Night work is normal for us. Evenings, nights and weekends are when much of our work happens, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes from a few hours to more than one visit, depending on duct length and access. We agree a date with you, plan the drive to Radclive and turn up when the site is quiet.
- Diagnosis: a survey of the duct’s route, size and access.
- A fixed quote follows, based on what we found.
- Each section is cleaned in turn through its access panel.
- We take extra care at bends and at the foot of risers.
- Readings, photos and a recommended next clean date complete the job.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
- Clear loose items from the work area
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
How to get a quote
We don’t publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, and then give you a fixed quote. To get going, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.
Advice
Questions from Radclive
Which council inspects kitchens in Radclive?
Kitchens in Radclive are inspected by Buckinghamshire council’s environmental health officers. Have your latest TR19® certificate and photo report to hand, as an officer may ask how the extract is maintained.
Can you come to Radclive after we close?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. The work in Radclive can fit around your hours. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.
How long will the duct clean take?
Duct length, access and grease levels all affect it. As a guide, it takes a few hours for a short run, longer for long runs and tall risers.
Who has the legal duty for fire safety?
The law calls them the responsible person. That’s generally the employer or the person in control of the premises, and where several people have control, each can have duties. If you are not sure, check your lease and fire risk assessment.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7, for problems that can’t wait. Ring any time and tell us what’s happened.
How can I tell if my extract ducts are dirty?
The date on the last certificate is the first thing to check. No record, or a passed date, means it’s due, and grease readings will confirm how urgent it is.
Will we have to shut during the visit?
Not usually. Booking the work out of hours means the site can carry on as normal. Bigger sites can be done in stages to keep things running.
Do you work in Radclive?
Yes. Radclive is part of the area we cover, within the South East and London area we cover.
What ductwork cleaning looks like in Radclive

Any of them serving cooked food has an extract to keep clean, from canopy to discharge. Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service covers Radclive. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. Food hygiene inspections in Radclive are the job of Buckinghamshire council’s environmental health team. An officer looking round a kitchen will see the canopy, and grease there is hard to miss.
