Common questions in Dean

Do you work overnight in Dean?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. The work in Dean can fit around your hours. When you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us, mention when the site is quiet.

Who enforces fire safety at workplaces in Dean?

It’s Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, which covers Dean. TR19® isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark many fire officers and insurers look to when they ask how often the extract is cleaned.

What information do you need?

Where the site is, what it is and when it’s open, plus pictures of the system and your last certificate or report if you have one.

What paperwork do you give after a duct clean?

A photo report, with readings and before and after photos, plus a TR19 certificate for a full system clean. It also gives a recommended next clean date.

Do you cover Dean?

Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and that includes Dean.

What do you do with what you remove?

Anything we remove is contained as we work and taken away with us, from grease and debris to used cleaning water. None of it is left on site.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line and we will talk you through the next steps.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and leave the area clean.

About our ductwork cleaning in Dean

If the ducts in Dean haven’t been cleaned for a while, or nobody is sure when they were? Tell us about the system when you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email, and we’ll send you a fixed quote for ductwork cleaning, normally within one working day. Common call-outs are for grease pooling at the foot of the riser and duct runs that can’t be reached, across access panels, bends and junctions and vertical risers.

Rural kitchens often have long, low duct runs through a roof space or along an outside wall, where grease settles in the flat sections. Access, parking and timings are agreed before the day.

We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we’re fully insured.

Ductwork cleaning around Dean

The Food Standards Agency lists about 3 bars, pubs and nightclubs as registered food businesses within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Dean. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. In Dean, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Winchester City council. The cleanliness of the kitchen and its equipment, extraction included, is part of what they check. Keeping each certificate and photo report on file helps show the extract is looked after. Dean sits within the area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises.

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Church of St Peter or elsewhere in Dean, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.

Dean is about 6 miles north-east of Hedge End, in Hampshire. We provide ductwork cleaning for commercial premises of every kind in Dean and the rest of Hampshire. Our Hampshire coverage runs to 683 places, and Dean is one of them. There’s also a page for Southampton, roughly 9 miles from Dean.

Why act early in Dean

A dirty duct is something insurers ask about. Many policies require TR19 cleaning, and a claim may be refused or reduced without evidence. Your certificate and photo report show the ducts were cleaned. If the system at a site near Dean fails, there may be nowhere nearby to move to.

Every site is different, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all make a difference.

Why Dean businesses choose us

  • A written report with pictures after each visit
  • Fixed quotes from a survey or pictures
  • Out-of-hours work and a 24/7 emergency line
  • One number for every site across the South East and London

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we are happy to quote for all of it.

Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit produces a dated report with photos, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

What ductwork cleaning can’t fix

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Faulty fire dampers
  • Leaking duct joints that need repair
  • Ductwork that was poorly designed

If you are not sure, just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Attenuators
  • Horizontal duct runs
  • Access panels
  • Vertical risers
  • Multi-storey ducts
  • Bends and junctions

Common problems we fix in Dean

A duct with too few access doors cannot be fully cleaned. Sections between panels go uncleaned, sometimes since the system was installed, and grease there keeps thickening unseen.

Any of these means the system needs a check-up:

  • A rancid smell from the extract duct
  • Years of grease along the duct floor
  • Sections of duct with no access panels
  • Grease pooling at the foot of the riser

Term dates shape school work: for a school like Bishops Waltham Infant School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Proof of insurance
  • Whether the figure could change on the day
  • What happens if part of the system can’t be accessed
  • When the next visit should be, and why

Our hiring checklist

Different parts, different methods

Multi-storey and shared buildings

Ducts in taller or shared buildings often run past other occupiers. We plan access with you and the building manager, so the clean is done safely and quietly.

Vertical risers

Risers carry the extract up through the building to the roof. Grease collects on the walls and at the foot of the riser, so the base is one of our test points.

How the visit works

We start by comparing what we find with the survey or your photos. If anything is different, we talk it through with the person on site before carrying on. From there, it takes a few hours for a short run, longer for long runs and tall risers. In a small place like Dean, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.

  1. The duct route is surveyed and every access point found.
  2. We take grease readings along the route.
  3. Out of hours, the area is protected and the access panels opened.
  4. Thick grease is scraped out, then the runs and risers are degreased.
  5. We close up, re-test, photograph and record anything out of reach.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions
  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use

Ask for a quote

We do not publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, and then give you a fixed quote. To start, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We’ll take a look and give you a fixed quote.

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
