When it’s something else

We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so here are the limits:

  • Duct sections that need replacing
  • Ductwork that was poorly designed
  • A damper stuck open in the duct

If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will say what we think.

What the work covers

  • Multi-storey ducts
  • Access panels
  • Attenuators
  • Horizontal duct runs
  • Bends and junctions
  • Vertical risers

Ductwork cleaning in Cove

Not sure when the ductwork was last cleaned? Tell us about the system when you phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, and we will send you a fixed quote for ductwork cleaning, normally within one working day. The work covers multi-storey ducts, bends and junctions and vertical risers, and the jobs we see most are a grease test showing the duct is overdue and duct runs with no cleaning record.

In a smaller place like Cove, many kitchens sit in older buildings or later extensions, where the duct may cross a roof void or climb an outside wall. Long horizontal runs like that hold grease and need access panels to reach.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a dated report with pictures of the work, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Cove kitchens: local notes

Food Standards Agency records include about 13 pubs, bars and clubs within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Cove. Wherever they cook, the canopy, duct and fan collect grease just as a restaurant’s do. Food hygiene inspections in Cove are the job of Rushmoor council’s environmental health team. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. Keeping each certificate and photo report on file helps show the extract is looked after. Cove sits within the area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises.

Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as Fleet Community Hospital (about 2.4 miles west), often cook for long hours, which puts them in BESA’s heavier-use bands. A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St John the Baptist or elsewhere in Cove, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. Bursars and site managers at schools such as Parsonage Farm Nursery and Infant School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty.

Cove is about 1 mile west of Farnborough, in Hampshire. Cove gets the same approach as every site we work on: diagnosis first, a fixed price, out-of-hours working where necessary and a written report with photos. Our area takes in 683 places across Hampshire, from busy centres to quieter spots. There’s also a page for Guildford, roughly 10 miles from Cove.

Here we cover the GU14, GU17 and GU51 postcode area for ductwork cleaning. You’ll find streets such as Fleet Road, Trunk Road and Limes Road, and we cover them all for ductwork cleaning. Larger places within reach include Basingstoke (13 miles west), Alton (13 miles south-west), Yateley (3 miles north-west), Bordon (13 miles south), Hook (7 miles west) and Popley (13 miles west).

For landlords and multi-site operators

For anyone managing more than one site, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Every building has its own written report, so records stay tidy.

From a single site to a large estate, the standard is the same: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with photos.

What affects the quote in Cove

We do not publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. The quote depends on:

  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing
  • How big the system is
  • A single visit or a regular plan

We don’t list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email, and we will explain what it covers.

Helping us quote

Before you ask for a quote, gather:

  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Any previous report or certificate
  • When the site is open and when it’s quiet

To get a fixed quote, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. You’ll normally have a quote within one working day.

Looking after it afterwards

Once we have finished, these simple steps help:

  • Check readings when the menu changes
  • Store the certificate with the fire risk assessment
  • Don’t switch the extract off early
  • Report any grease dripping from duct joints

A full system clean includes a TR19 certificate from the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. It shows when and where the clean was done and by whom.

The less grease gets past the canopy, the cleaner the duct stays. Keep the filters clean, well fitted and in place whenever you cook.

Part by part

Horizontal duct runs

Long horizontal runs need access panels at regular intervals. Any stretch out of reach is noted and can fit extra panels.

Bends and transitions

Wherever the duct turns or changes size, grease builds up. Slowing air leaves grease behind, so these points get extra attention.

Why deal with it now?

A dirty duct is something insurers ask about. Many policies require TR19 cleaning, and a claim may be refused or reduced without evidence. Your certificate and photo report show the ducts were cleaned. A visit arranged in advance is far less disruptive than a callout on a busy day.

Several systems or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at and we will price it together.

Why us?

How it works

Everything the job needs comes with us, including protection sheets, the right tools and access kit. All we need from you is clear access and the right equipment switched off. The visit takes anything from a few hours to several visits, depending on the length of duct. We plan the journey to Cove and bring what the job is likely to need.

  1. We trace the duct and find every way in.
  2. We take grease readings along the route.
  3. Once the kitchen has closed, we protect the area and open the panels.
  4. Thick grease is scraped out, then the runs and risers are degreased.
  5. We close up, re-test, photograph and record anything out of reach.

Preparing for the visit

  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
  • Arrange a key holder or contact on site
  • Have your last certificate or report to hand

We don’t publish a price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To get going, ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

How much does ductwork cleaning cost?

The cost depends on the size of the system, its condition, access and timing. Ask us for a fixed quote, usually ready within one working day.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. The work is kept contained and clean down when we finish.

Do you work in Cove?

Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, Cove included.

Not normally. We work when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends, so you keep your normal hours.
