Force Green canopy cleaning
Deep cleaning of kitchen canopies, hoods, plenums and grease filters, inside and out for businesses, landlords and public buildings in Force Green. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and fully insured.
- A canopy flagged at an environmental health inspection
- Grease channels that no longer drain
- Filters that clog soon after cleaning
Canopy cleaning in Force Green
Every TR19® Grease clean includes the canopy, but some sites need the canopy done between full cleans. Where that’s the case, we will be clear that the ducts and fan are not included, so your records stay accurate. Typical jobs include a plenum thick with grease behind the filters and smoke hanging around the canopy during service, across grease gutters, canopy light fittings and island canopies.
In London, few kitchens can spare a day to close, so extract cleaning in Force Green is normally done overnight, after the last service. Before the clean, we agree loading, parking and roof access with whoever manages the building.
Each visit ends with a written report and pictures, so there’s a dated record of the work. Kitchen extract cleaning to TR19® Grease is certificated through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

The process
Your trading hours come first. We book the visit for a time the area is closed, whether that is an evening, overnight or a weekend. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the job takes an hour or two for one small canopy, longer where there are several. Expect the work in Force Green to happen after your last customer leaves, not during trading.
- We start by checking the canopy and what’s behind its filters.
- Equipment is turned off and cooled, and the area under the canopy is protected.
- Thick grease is scraped away before the canopy is degreased.
- Plenum, housing, troughs and canopy are all cleaned and checked.
- You get pictures of the result and a recommended date for the next clean.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the space around the work
- Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
- Let us know about parking and loading
Getting a quote
There’s no standard price list, because no two systems are the same. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To get going, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us.

Aftercare tips
How long the results last depends on use and care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Avoid harsh scourers that scratch the canopy
- Clean the baffle filters often
- Keep the fan on through service
- Flag any change in how the canopy behaves
The kitchen is handed back clean, with the sheeting gone and the waste removed. Every filter is refitted and checked ready for the next service.
Tell us if the canopy starts dripping or the filters clog sooner than usual. It can mean the cooking has changed or the interval is too long, which a grease thickness test can confirm.
What affects the cost of canopy cleaning
The quote reflects the site in front of us. We consider:
- How many systems or sites are involved
- The condition of the system
- The size of the system
- How easy every part is to reach
Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Ask for a fixed quote and we’ll explain each part.
What to send for a quote
Many jobs can be priced from photos and some basics. Useful things to send:
- Problems your staff have spotted
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- The site address and the type of premises
Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we usually reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.
Your questions about canopy cleaning in Force Green
Who is the fire and rescue service for Force Green?
Fire safety enforcement in Force Green is handled by London Fire Brigade. A recent cleaning certificate and a note of the next clean date show that grease in the extract is being managed.
Which council inspects kitchens in Force Green?
The local authority for Force Green is Sevenoaks council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. It helps to keep the extract cleaning records with your food safety paperwork, so they’re ready if asked for.
Will I get a report after the canopy clean?
Before and after photos go into a report, listing what was cleaned. A full TR19 clean adds a certificate from the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
Do you look at the system first?
Yes. Photos often do the job, while bigger or harder-to-see systems are surveyed on site.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for anything that cannot wait until a planned visit. Call us any time and explain what’s happened.
Do we need to close the kitchen for a canopy clean?
The clean is done out of hours: evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. The range must be switched off and cooled first.
Do you clean the grease filters as part of a canopy clean?
We take them out, clean them and put them back. Between cleans, a filter exchange service can keep them in good order.
What do you do to protect the area?
With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. The work is kept contained and leave the area clean.

A hospital like Tandridge Priory, about 2.7 miles south-west, is the kind of site where a kitchen may cook for patients, staff and visitors all day. How the job changes from site to site
School and staff canteen kitchens
School and canteen kitchens often cook to set hours, which makes a canopy clean easy to schedule. Holidays and weekends work well.
Island canopies
Everything about an island canopy is on show, so the finish matters. It’s degreased and photographed for your report.
Leave it or put it right?
A greasy canopy is fuel directly above the flame. Flames from the range can ignite it and be pulled further into the system, where a fire is much harder to stop. A clean canopy takes that fuel away. London sites work long hours, and the longer a job is left, the bigger it gets.
What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why every job is surveyed first, and why the quote is fixed before work begins.

When something else is needed
Canopy cleaning can’t fix everything, and we will tell you before we start. It won’t put right:
- A hood that does not cover the cooking line
- Poor airflow from a fan that needs repair
- Faulty canopy lights or wiring (a job for an electrician)
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will tell you honestly.

What staff can safely do
If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.
Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you cannot see still need a specialist at the right interval.
