AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Whitchurch

All the building’s air passes through the fan, so dust on its blades and housing ends up in the airstream. We clean the fan section along with the rest of the unit, with the unit switched off and made safe first. The work covers supply and extract fans, heating and cooling coils and internal panels, and the jobs we see most are air handling units with blocked filters and leaves and litter drawn into the unit.

For a building near Whitchurch, the visit is planned around how it’s used, and the journey is planned ahead. The work is the same as in any town: inspect, clean, record.

We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

What we do, step by step

When we arrive, we check the system against the survey or the photos you sent. If anything is different, we talk it through with the person on site before carrying on. After that, the work takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. Evenings, weekends or a closed day all work for a site in a place like Whitchurch.

  1. We look at the unit and the plant area during the survey.
  2. The area is protected and the unit made safe.
  3. Dirt and debris are removed from each section.
  4. Coils and trays are cleaned and the condensate drain cleared.
  5. The unit is closed up and handed back, with a report to follow.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Find the previous report, if there is one
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use
  • Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool

How we price AHU cleaning

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • The times the site is available
  • The condition of the system
  • The size of the system
  • How easy every part is to reach

Every site is different, so we price each one individually. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.

What we need to know

Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:

  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
  • Wide pictures of the system and the area around it
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall

To get a fixed quote, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few pictures and your last certificate or report help a lot. You will typically have a quote within one working day.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too in Whitchurch and across Hampshire. Larger estates can be phased building by building to keep disruption down.

What AHU cleaning cannot fix

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Dirty ducts beyond the unit itself
  • Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors

If you are not sure, just call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
