AHU Cleaning in Ibworth
Air handling unit cleaning in Ibworth, surveyed first and signed off with a written report and pictures. Call for a fixed quote.
- Rooms that smell stuffy when the system runs
- Dust built up on fan impellers
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
Aftercare tips
No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:
- Clear leaves and litter away from the intake
- Note any water around the unit or leaks below it
- Do not ignore odours coming through the grilles
- Keep filter changes on time and recorded
The report shows each section of the unit before and after, and note any part we couldn’t get to. Any defects we noticed, like a leaking tray or damaged lining, are listed.
Keep the area around the intake clear. What’s near the intake ends up in the unit.
AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Ibworth
An AHU clean is a thorough examination and treatment of the unit. Every section is opened, cleaned and photographed, so you can see the unit’s condition for yourself. Typical jobs include debris and leaves in the fresh air intake and plant that needs cleaning after a refit, across supply and extract fans, internal panels and drain trays.
In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, which makes them easy to overlook.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a written report, dated and illustrated with pictures, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. It shows what was done and what, if anything, couldn’t be reached.

What else we do in Ibworth
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.
Landlords, managing agents and facilities managers book us, not only the businesses that use the systems. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we’re happy to quote for all of it.
Different parts, different methods
Rooftop and plant room units
Many AHUs sit on roofs or in plant rooms with limited access. Access is planned during the survey so the quote reflects it.
Filters
Clogged filters reduce airflow, and dirt can get round the edges. The filter section is cleaned so new or cleaned filters sit properly.
What your team can do, and what needs us
Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.
Staff cleaning does not replace a specialist visit; it supports it. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you can’t see still need a specialist at the right interval.
What we are called out for in Ibworth
Cooling coils create condensation, and that water has to go somewhere. If the drain tray outlet blocks or the tray doesn’t fall properly, water stands in it, and that is where slime and odours start.
Most sites get in touch when they notice one of these:
- Fan sections that haven’t been cleaned in years
- Air handling units with blocked filters
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
- Blocked condensate drains and slimy trays
An inspection comes first for any ventilation job around Ibworth, so the cleaning matches what’s there.

Ibworth: your questions answered
Do you work in villages like Ibworth?
Yes, we work in villages as well as towns, and Ibworth is covered. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Do you work at weekends in Ibworth?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. Your customers, staff or residents in Ibworth needn’t be disturbed. Just call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.
What’s included in an AHU clean?
We clean the filter section, heating and cooling coils, drain trays, fan and internal casing. What happens to the filters is agreed when we quote.
What does AHU cleaning cost?
There’s no set price, as it depends on the job: the size of the system, its condition, access and when we can work. You get a fixed price before any work starts.
What if parts of the system can’t be reached?
The report shows them clearly. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, and we can fit those.
How far ahead should we book?
Book as early as you can for planned work, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.
Do you need to switch the unit off?
Yes. Cleaning needs the unit off and isolated, so we plan it for a time that suits the building.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes, of course. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we will propose a schedule with a fixed quote.
What AHU cleaning cannot fix
We won’t sell you work that doesn’t address the problem, so these are the things it will not cover:
- Ventilation that was badly designed in the first place
- Controls and BMS settings that run the unit
- The supply and extract ducts, quoted separately
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
Parts of the system we cover
- Supply and extract fans
- Filter sections
- Dampers and louvres
- Drain trays
- Internal panels
- Heating and cooling coils
What happens on the day
We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in Ibworth before we set off.
- First the unit is surveyed, from photos or a visit, and the scope agreed.
- The unit is shut down with your site team and the area protected.
- We clean or change the filters as agreed, then clean the coils, fan and internal panels.
- We clean out the drain tray and make sure it drains.
- We close up the unit and send the certificate and before and after pictures.
How to prepare
- Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Let us know about parking and loading
