AHU cleaning in Hall's Green
Our AHU cleaning covers sites in Hall's Green and the rest of Kent, in buildings such as offices, schools, healthcare sites and shops. Units are cleaned when the site can spare them, often evenings, overnight or weekends. Common call-outs are for plant that has been serviced but not cleaned and dust built up on fan impellers, on supply and extract fans, heating and cooling coils and internal panels.
Somewhere as small as Hall's Green, ducted ventilation is typically limited to a school, a care home, a surgery or a converted business building, wherever there is one, but where it’s fitted, it needs the same inspection and cleaning as anywhere.
A written report with photos follows each visit, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Logging matters as much as cleaning. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, next to our reports.
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, which is where we come in.
Why it’s worth doing now in Hall's Green
Dirt left in an air handling unit does not stay in the unit. It’s carried through the ductwork and out of the grilles, so cleaning the ducts without the unit only goes so far. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.
What you pay depends on the size of the system, the condition it’s in and how easy it is to reach. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Hall's Green questions
Do you work in villages like Hall's Green?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.
Do you work overnight in Hall's Green?
Yes, evening, overnight and weekend work is normal for us. The site is handed back ready to open. Let us know the hours you are closed and we’ll book within them.
How long will the unit be out of action?
The work takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. Bigger units can be phased, and you can give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line to plan it.
Is there a report after cleaning?
Yes, a TR19® certificate and a photo report. It includes a recommended date for the next check.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
Any site with a kitchen or a ventilation system to look after, from a small pub to a hospital. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.
What do you clean inside the unit?
The main parts are the filters, coils, drain tray, fan and inside of the casing. The survey confirms what’s in your unit before we quote.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we’ll advise on what to do next.
What does TR19 mean?
It’s the industry benchmark for cleaning ventilation and kitchen extract systems, written by BESA. It sets out inspection, cleaning and record keeping and expects a risk-based approach.
When it’s something else
We’ll always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what AHU cleaning won’t do:
- Damaged coils beyond cleaning
- Breakdowns that need a mechanical engineer
- A system that is undersized for the building
If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will say what we think.
What the work covers
- Drain trays
- Internal panels
- Heating and cooling coils
- Dampers and louvres
- Supply and extract fans
- Filter sections
Looking after it afterwards
After the visit, a few habits help the work last:
- Stick to the filter change plan
- Watch for drips or damp patches near the plant
- Look at the condensate drain whenever the unit is serviced
- Keep inspection doors on the unit in good order
When we’ve closed the unit up, it can be restarted with your site team. Keep an eye on the condensate drain over the next few days to make sure it stays clear.
Change or clean filters on time. Once filters clog, dirt starts getting past them.
How the visit works
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool before work begins, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes from a few hours for a compact unit to a day or more for a large one. The timing of a visit to Hall's Green is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.
- The survey covers the unit, its access and how it can be shut down.
- We sheet the area and the unit is isolated.
- Dirt and debris are removed from each section.
- Coils and trays are cleaned and the condensate drain cleared.
- We close every panel, hand the unit back and send the report and certificate.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
- Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
- Let us know about parking and loading

How we price AHU cleaning
We don’t publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. What we look at:
- The condition of the system
- The scale of the work
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
We don’t list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos, and we’ll talk you through it.
What we need to know
A few details help us quote accurately. With your enquiry, please include:
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
Photos are the quickest way to a quote: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.
