Need AHU cleaning in Frogmill?

AHU cleaning in Frogmill, done properly

We clean the parts of the unit where dirt and moisture gather: filters, coils, drain trays, fans and the internal panels. You get a TR19® certificate and a photo report showing the unit before and after. If you have dirty fans and fan housings and units needing a clean before a new tenant or handover, we can help, from heating and cooling coils, supply and extract fans and internal panels onwards.

Rural buildings with mechanical ventilation, such as care homes and country hotels, often keep their units in roof spaces or outbuildings, which makes them easy to overlook.

Duct Doctor has been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

What your team can do, and what needs us

A few tasks are always specialist work: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. What they can’t safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, which is where we come in.

Multi-site and managed buildings

We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Windsor and Maidenhead. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements, and we’ll send a fixed quote.

Frogmill: your questions answered

Can you come to Frogmill after we close?

Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. That way a site in Frogmill doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Let us know the hours you are closed and we’ll book within them.

Is AHU cleaning available in Frogmill?

Yes, we work in Frogmill and the places around it. Get in touch with the details and we will arrange a survey.

Can you clean the ducts connected to the AHU?

Yes. We clean supply and extract ductwork to TR19® Air as well. It’s often worth doing both at once, and we can survey both on the same visit.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for anything that cannot wait until a planned visit. Call us any time and explain what’s happened.

Can you fix a faulty AHU?

Mechanical repairs to the unit are for your HVAC maintenance contractor. We clean the unit and report anything we see that needs attention.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. The Vent Hygiene Elite scheme is run by BESCA and audited independently.

Will the ventilation be off while you clean?

Yes. Cleaning needs the unit off and isolated, so we plan it for a time that suits the building.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. We work across South East England and London, so we can schedule a run of sites as one programme. Every site has its own report.

The process

The visit has three parts: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Set-up means sheeting and making equipment safe, while signing off means the written report and pictures. The middle part takes longest, which takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. The timing of a visit to Frogmill is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.

  1. We survey the unit from pictures or on site and agree what’s included.
  2. The unit is shut down with your site team and the area protected.
  3. Filters, coils, fan section and casing are cleaned in turn.
  4. Standing water and slime come out of the tray and the drain is checked.
  5. We close up the unit and send the certificate and before and after photos.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions

Clean air matters most where people are unwell, and that’s as true in a care home as in a hospital.

Why deal with it now?

When the unit is clean, less dirt reaches the ducts, so the whole system stays cleaner for longer. It also means the next inspection has less to find. Somewhere as small as Frogmill, losing a kitchen or building to a fault is felt by everyone who uses it.

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, which can make the next visit longer. If you are not sure what’s needed, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form for straight advice and a fixed quote.

Why Frogmill businesses choose us

  • Fixed quotes, normally within one working day
  • BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease
  • One number for every site across the South East and London
  • Trading since 2009

Take a look at how cleaning jobs are priced or how to check a contractor.

How we price AHU cleaning

Every site gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The number of sites or systems
  • The condition of the system
  • Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
  • The scale of the work

Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we’ll go through it with you.

Helping us quote

A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels

To help us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, photos of the system and any previous report or certificate. Once you have those, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.

Common problems we fix in Frogmill

Air handling units are typically tucked away on roofs, in plant rooms or above ceilings, so they’re easy to forget about. It’s easy for a long time to go by without anyone opening the panels.

Clients normally contact us when they notice one of these:

  • Fan sections that haven’t been cleaned in years
  • Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
  • Condensate trays that won’t empty
  • Odours coming through the supply air

School buildings such as Danesfield School are typically done in the holidays, so classrooms are not disturbed.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
  • When they can work, and whether that is outside your opening hours
  • Proof of accreditation you can verify
  • Whether they recommend a next date

Choosing a duct cleaning contractor

Honest limits

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:

  • The supply and extract ducts, quoted separately
  • Coils that are corroded or leaking and need replacing
  • Faulty motors, drives or bearings

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will tell you honestly.
