AHU cleaning around East End

East End’s nearest hospital, Benenden Hospital, is about less than half a mile south. Clean air matters most where people are unwell, and that’s as true in a care home as in a hospital. East End, about 42 miles from central London, is within our usual area. The visit is fixed around your opening hours, not ours.

Hospitals such as Benenden Hospital (about under half a mile south) show how much a building can rely on clean ventilation, and smaller healthcare sites near East End are no different.

AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in East End

We clean air handling units for buildings in East End and across Kent, working to TR19® Air, in offices, schools, hospitals, care homes and retail. The work is timed around when the system can be switched off, including evenings, nights and weekends. We are often asked to deal with coils clogged with dust and debris and air handling units due a clean after building work, across heating and cooling coils, supply and extract fans and dampers and louvres.

Rural buildings with mechanical ventilation, such as care homes and country hotels, often keep their units in roof spaces or outbuildings, which makes them easy to overlook.

We are CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we’re fully insured. On top of that, we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we have been trading since 2009.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the system between visits is straightforward, and it helps at the next visit:

  • Do not store bins or materials near the intake
  • Look at the condensate drain whenever the unit is serviced
  • Keep inspection doors on the unit in good order
  • Diary the inspection date recommended in the report

When we have closed the unit up, it can be restarted with your site team. Keep an eye on the condensate drain over the next few days to make sure it stays clear.

Keep the unit’s doors and panels in working order. If a section is hard to get into, it tends not to get checked.

Your questions about AHU cleaning in East End

Is AHU cleaning available in East End?

Yes. Our area runs across London and the South East, East End included. Just ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with a few details of the site.

Can you work in East End outside opening hours?

Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. The site is handed back ready to open. Let us know the hours you’re closed and we will book within them.

Do you need to switch the unit off?

Yes, for the time we’re working on it. We can work evenings, overnight or at weekends so the building is not left without ventilation when it’s busy.

Can you clean the ducts connected to the AHU?

Yes. Ventilation ductwork cleaning to TR19® Air is part of what we do. It’s often worth doing both at once, and we can quote for both.

What should I send you?

The site address, the type of premises and your opening hours, plus photos of the system and your last certificate or report if you have one.

How often do AHUs need cleaning?

It depends on the unit, the filters and how the building is used. Inspection tells you when cleaning is needed, and we will suggest an interval after the first clean.

What happens if you cannot reach some of it?

Anything we can’t reach goes on the report, with photos where possible, and we explain what access is needed, for example new access panels.

Where does the waste go?

It’s contained and taken away. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on rather than letting it spread.

What staff can safely do

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.

A few tasks are always specialist work: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

What the work involves, part by part

Heating and cooling coils

Because cooling coils run wet, the dirt on them tends to cling. We clean the coil and the tray beneath it together.

Filters

Clogged filters reduce airflow, and dirt can get round the edges. We clean the frames and rails so the filters sit tight.

What we do, step by step

The visit has three parts: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Set-up means sheeting and making equipment safe, and the sign-off is a written report with photos. The middle part takes longest, which takes half a day to a full day per unit, with large plant planned over several shifts. A few pictures of the system help us make the most of a visit to a place like East End.

  1. The survey covers the unit, its access and how it can be shut down.
  2. The area is protected and the unit made safe.
  3. Each section is cleaned of dust, debris and slime.
  4. We clean the coils and clear the tray and drain.
  5. We close every panel, hand the unit back and send the report and certificate.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive
  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions

Getting a quote

For a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. A few pictures and your last certificate or report help a lot. We typically come back within one working day.

Advice

Managing agents and facilities teams in East End

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we will send a fixed quote.

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Every visit ends with a dated report and photos, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

Do you need AHU cleaning in East End?

Planned maintenance often covers belts, motors and filters but not cleaning. So a unit can be well maintained and still dirty.

What we’re most often called out for:

  • Filters that are clogged or overdue
  • Dirty coils holding back the airflow
  • Rooms that smell stuffy when the system runs
  • Air handling units never cleaned inside

In East End, we look inside the system before deciding what needs cleaning.

  • What paperwork you get at the end

Why act early in East End

A slimy drain tray only gets worse. Leave it and you risk overflows, leaks into the space below and odours carried round the building. Clearing it now is a much smaller job. Our emergency line runs 24/7, but a planned visit to East End is calmer for everyone.

Combining work into one visit or one programme can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every system or site you need covered, and you’ll get one fixed quote.

Why East End businesses choose us
