About our ventilation duct cleaning in Wye
We always start by inspecting. The ducts are opened at access points and the condition recorded, then recommend cleaning where it’s needed. That keeps the work in proportion to the risk. The work covers general extract ductwork, hospitals and care homes and supply ductwork, and common reasons people get in touch are dirty diffusers dropping dust into rooms and blocked general extract ductwork.
Work in a small place like Wye starts with agreeing access and timings, and the ventilation is inspected, cleaned and recorded the same as anywhere.
Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

Between visits
Aftercare is simple, and it makes the next visit easier:
- Store cleaning certificates where auditors can find them
- Keep to the inspection interval in your report
- Report leaks or damp near ceilings and risers
- Keep grilles and diffusers dusted
The report includes a recommended date for the next inspection, in line with the risk-based approach of TR19® Air. Diary it straight away so it is not missed.
Regular inspection is the core of TR19® Air. Scheduled inspections spot dust before it becomes a major job.
Your questions about ventilation duct cleaning in Wye
Can ventilation in schools around Wye be cleaned out of term?
Yes, and it’s the easiest time to do it. With about 2 schools and colleges on the FSA’s register within roughly a mile and a half of Wye, it pays to plan holiday dates ahead. Just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with your term dates and we’ll plan around them.
Do you cover smaller places like Wye?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A survey first, from pictures or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. Tell us the addresses and what each needs and we will quote them together.
Can you clean ventilation out of hours?
Yes, whenever daytime working is not practical. Tell us when the system can be switched off and we’ll plan to that.
What is TR19?
A BESA specification in two main parts: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
How long does ventilation cleaning take?
It takes a shift or two for a small system, longer for a whole building. The size of the system and the access make the biggest difference.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used, and we’ll suggest a schedule and quote for it.
How much does ventilation duct cleaning cost?
Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. To get one, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and tell us about the site and its opening hours.
What the work involves, part by part
Hospitals and care homes
In care settings, keeping dust contained is a priority. We protect the work area and take everything away.
Schools and colleges
Holidays and weekends are the natural time to clean school ventilation, with nobody in the classrooms.
What affects the quote in Wye
Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We look at:
- What state the system is in
- A single visit or a regular plan
- Parking and loading at the site
- How big the system is
You won’t find a price list here, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, ring 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, and we will explain what it covers.
What to send for a quote
We can often survey from photos. The most useful are:
- Any previous report or certificate
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.
Honest limits
We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so here are the limits:
- Leaking or broken duct sections
- Ventilation that is undersized for the building
- Cooking extract ducts, which are a separate specialist clean
If you’re not sure, just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What the work covers
- Grilles and diffusers
- Offices and schools
- Toilet extract systems
- Hospitals and care homes
- Supply ductwork
- General extract ductwork
How the visit works
Your trading hours come first. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we are in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the job takes a weekend for a modest system, with large buildings phased floor by floor. We agree a date with you, plan the drive to Wye and turn up when the site is quiet.
- We agree timings that suit the building, including evenings and weekends.
- We open the ductwork through its access panels.
- Before pictures are taken and the ducts cleaned section by section.
- We clean the grilles and diffusers and put them back.
- After pictures are taken and the certificate and report issued.
Before we arrive
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Move anything stored near the system
How to get a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

What we are called out for in Wye
Damp ducts hold onto dirt. Where there’s condensation or a leak, dust clings and builds faster, and it becomes harder to remove.
Most sites get in touch when they notice one of these:
- Dirty diffusers dropping dust into rooms
- Ventilation that needs a TR19® Air inspection
- Extract ducts clogged with lint and dust
- Duct runs that can’t be reached for cleaning
If you manage shops or offices close to Wye station, a TR19® Air inspection shows whether the ductwork needs cleaning.
Before you book anyone
- Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
- What insurance they carry
- Whether a survey comes first
- Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
What happens if it’s left?
Smells, dust around grilles and stuffy rooms are signs the system needs attention. Acting early keeps the clean simpler. With notice, the visit to Wye can be fitted around your bookings and events.
