Ventilation duct cleaning for kitchens and businesses in The Willows
Beyond the kitchen, TR19® Air covers the ordinary supply and extract systems that serve offices, schools and other buildings. It works by inspecting first and cleaning where the risk calls for it, so every job starts with a look inside the ducts. The work covers toilet extract systems, general extract ductwork and grilles and diffusers, and the jobs we see most are dust marks around grilles and ceiling diffusers and systems missing access panels.
In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, which makes them easy to overlook.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with pictures of the work, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Part by part
Supply ductwork
Supply ducts carry air from the AHU into the rooms. Fine dust that gets past the filters settles along the runs, and we remove it through access panels.
Schools and colleges
We plan the work around the school calendar, with access agreed with the caretaker or site manager.
Signs you need ventilation duct cleaning in The Willows
Ventilation hygiene often gets left out of planned maintenance. A building in The Willows can have well-serviced plant and dirty ductwork at the same time.
The symptoms we are asked about most are:
- Construction dust left in ducts after a refit
- Duct runs that can’t be reached for cleaning
- Rooms that feel airless when the system runs
- Musty smells from the ventilation
Classrooms and halls at schools such as Furneux Pelham Church of England School are easiest to work in when pupils are away.
Questions to ask before booking
- How VAT is shown on the quote
- What’s included in the scope, part by part
- What hours they’ll be on site
- What insurance they carry
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
Staff cleaning does not replace a specialist visit; it supports it. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you cannot see still need a specialist at the right interval.
Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, next to our reports.
Leave it or put it right?
In healthcare, care and education settings, ventilation cleaning is hard to put off. Good indoor air starts with a clean system. Rural sites can’t always move to another kitchen or room when something fails.
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before work begins.

How it works
We work around your opening hours, not the other way round. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the job takes anything from a single shift for a small office to a planned programme of nights for a large building. The timing of a visit to The Willows is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.
- First the system is surveyed, on site or from pictures and drawings.
- Ducts are inspected at access points and the condition recorded.
- We protect the rooms beneath and switch the system off.
- We clean the ductwork, grilles and diffusers through access panels.
- A certificate and before and after photos follow, with anything not reached recorded.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
- Find the previous report, if there is one
Ask for a quote
Quotes are quick. Call or email with a few details and you’ll normally have a fixed price within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

The Willows questions
Can you clean school ventilation in The Willows during the holidays?
Yes, out-of-term visits are normal for schools. With about 2 schools and colleges on the FSA’s register within roughly a mile and a half of The Willows, it pays to plan holiday dates ahead. You can phone us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos with the dates the site is empty.
Do you work in villages like The Willows?
Yes, The Willows is part of our area, however small the site. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.
How much does ventilation duct cleaning cost?
We do not publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: the size of the system, its condition, access and when we can work. You get a fixed price before work begins.
Can you quote from photos?
Often, yes. With good photos, the site type and your last report, we can price many jobs. Where we cannot see enough, we arrange a survey.
How do you deal with ducts you cannot get into?
Nothing is hidden: any section we couldn’t get into is listed. We can install panels to open those sections up.
Can you look after several sites?
Yes. Send the list of sites and the work at each and we’ll quote them together.
How do you protect the area?
By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and clean down when we finish.
What happens to the waste?
It’s contained and taken away. We collect grease, debris and waste water as we go rather than letting it spread.
Multi-site and managed buildings
From a single site to a large estate, you get the same standard: a survey first, a fixed quote, the work timed around the site and a report with photos.
The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.
Honest limits
We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so these are the things it won’t cover:
- Cooking extract ducts, which are a separate specialist clean
- Building management settings that run the plant
- Condensation caused by the building rather than the ducts
If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will say what we think.
