Ventilation duct cleaning in Hanworth
Ventilation duct cleaning is something we carry out for buildings in Hanworth and right across Bracknell Forest, in offices, schools, healthcare buildings and retail. Each building gets a survey first and a fixed quote. The work covers offices and schools, toilet extract systems and grilles and diffusers, and the jobs we see most are odours carried round the building by the ducts and rooms that feel airless when the system runs.
Around a place like Hanworth, ventilation systems tend to be in schools, surgeries, care homes and workplaces. Smaller systems still gather dust and need inspecting.
Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

What happens if it’s left?
Smells, dust around grilles and stuffy rooms are signs the system needs attention. Dealing with them now stops them getting worse. You choose the date of a planned visit, and a breakdown never asks.
No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all make a difference.

The process
Protection comes first: floors, worktops and anything near the work are covered. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes a shift or two for a small system, longer for a whole building, and we clear up before we go. Everything the job in Hanworth needs is worked out beforehand, from the survey.
- We agree timings that suit the building, including evenings and weekends.
- Access panels are opened along each run.
- We photograph the ducts, then clean each section in turn.
- We clean the grilles and diffusers and put them back.
- After pictures are taken and the certificate and report issued.
Before we arrive
- Tell us where we can park and unload
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
How to get a quote
Here’s what helps us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, pictures of the system and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Then give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos.
Advice
Your questions about ventilation duct cleaning in Hanworth
Can you work in Hanworth outside opening hours?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. That way a site in Hanworth doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.
Is Hanworth within the area you cover?
Yes, Hanworth is part of our area, however small the site. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.
How much notice do you need?
It depends on the time you need and how big the job is. Tell us your preferred dates when you ask for a quote, and for anything urgent, ring our 24/7 emergency line.
When should our ventilation next be cleaned?
It depends on the building, how the system is used and what inspection finds. Inspecting regularly shows when cleaning is needed.
Is TR19 a legal requirement?
No. The law sets the duty, and TR19® is the recognised benchmark for meeting it. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person has to manage fire risk, and without records, many insurers may refuse or reduce a claim.
What happens to the waste?
We take it away when we go. While we work, it’s kept contained to keep the area clean.
Do we get a certificate after the clean?
Yes. You get a TR19® certificate and a report with before and after photos. BESA advises keeping certificates in the maintenance log.
Do we need to close while you work?
Not normally. Visits are timed for when the area is closed, such as overnight or at a weekend, so the site can carry on as normal.
What a clean will not put right
Not every problem is solved by ventilation duct cleaning, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not put right:
- Ducts that are damaged, corroded or leaking and need replacing
- Leaks from roofs, pipes or walls into the ductwork
- A system that isn’t designed to move enough air
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly.
Parts of the system we cover

What your team can do, and what needs us
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.
If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We will take a look and give you a fixed quote.
How the job changes from site to site
Extract ductwork
General extract ductwork removes stale air from rooms, toilets and washrooms. They collect dust, lint and fibres and slowly narrow.
Schools and colleges
We plan the work around the school calendar, with access agreed with the caretaker or site manager.
How we price ventilation duct cleaning
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- Whether several sites go on one quote
- The size of the system
- Working hours and out-of-hours timing
The cost depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. We give you a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.
Helping us quote
When you contact us, it’s useful to have:
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
Some systems can be priced from photos; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work starts.
Aftercare tips
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Diary the next TR19® Air inspection
- Protect the system from construction dust
- Report dust blowing from grilles straight away
- Log every filter change
A TR19® certificate and photo report follow every clean. Keep them in the maintenance log, with the date, location and technician recorded.
Protect the system during building work by switching it off or covering the grilles.
