Kitchen extract cleaning in Marden Beech
We’ve been trading since 2009, cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East and London. We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 and are fully insured. If you’re dealing with grease smells coming from the extract and years of baked-on grease in the ducts, we can put it right. If you need a kitchen extract clean in Marden Beech, you get one team and one number for every site.
BESA sets minimum intervals by hours of cooking a day: 3-monthly for heavy use, 6-monthly for moderate use and yearly for light use, with grease readings setting the real interval.
In a small place like Marden Beech, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, where grease settles in the flat sections. We agree access and timings in advance.
Duct Doctor has been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

For landlords and multi-site operators
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Leave it or put it right?
If there’s a fire and the extract hasn’t been cleaned, the paperwork becomes the problem. Many insurers ask for proof of TR19 cleaning and may reduce or refuse a claim without it. A current certificate is far easier to produce than an explanation. A fault that closes a site in a village like Marden Beech affects everyone who depends on it.
No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all make a difference.
Why book with us
- Evenings, overnight and weekends, plus 24/7 emergency callout
- Fixed quotes, usually within one working day

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
When your team notices a problem between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We’ll take a look and send you a fixed quote.
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
How it works
Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and the same goes into the written report. All told, the work takes a few hours for a small kitchen, longer for a large system. In a small place like Marden Beech, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.
- We start with a survey, so we know every part of the system before we quote.
- We measure the grease at set points along the system, then give you a fixed price.
- Once the kitchen has closed and the equipment has cooled, we sheet and protect the area.
- Canopy, plenum, filters, duct runs, risers, fan and discharge are all cleaned to TR19® Grease.
- Finally the system is re-tested and photographed, and the certificate and report follow.
How to prepare
- Let us know when the site is closed or quiet
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
How to get a quote
Quotes are quick. Send a few details and photos, and we usually reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

Schools, hospitals and care homes
Institutional kitchens tend to cook to set hours, so cleans can be booked when the kitchen is closed. The certificate goes straight into the site’s maintenance records.
Ductwork and risers
Vertical risers carry the air up through the building, and grease often collects at the bottom of them. They’re cleaned through access points along their height.
When something else is needed
We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:
- Faulty fire dampers in the duct
- A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
- A grease trap that needs emptying
If you’re not sure, just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What the work covers
- Vertical risers
- Extract fans
- Canopies and hoods
- Horizontal duct runs
- Discharge points
- Plenums and filters
Keeping the system healthy
A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. Our advice:
- Tell us when the extract starts to drip or smell
- Run the extract fan throughout cooking
- Refit filters properly after cleaning
- Book the next clean before the date on the report
When the clean is finished, grease readings are taken again at the same points, so you can see the difference in numbers as well as pictures. A TR19 certificate follows, issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
Keep the fan on throughout service. Cooking with the extract off lets grease and heat settle in the canopy, and the next clean has more to do.
Marden Beech: your questions answered
Can you work in Marden Beech outside opening hours?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. That way a site in Marden Beech does not have to lose a day’s trading. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.
Can you clean school kitchen extracts in Marden Beech during the holidays?
Yes, holiday work suits schools best. There are about 4 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Marden Beech. Tell us your holiday dates and we’ll book the visit for when the site is empty.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, depending on what the system needs.
Do you work with multi-site operators?
Yes. You deal with one contact for every site across London and the South East, with visits on a regular schedule.
Is Marden Beech in your area?
Yes. Our technicians work in Marden Beech, within the South East and London area we cover.
Do you clean the whole extract system or just the canopy?
Everything from canopy to discharge: canopy inside and out, plenum, grease filters, ductwork, risers, extract fan and discharge, plus attenuators where fitted. Anything we can’t reach is recorded on the report.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we will advise on what to do next.
What do I get after the clean?
Every clean comes with a TR19 certificate and a photo report. Keep them in the maintenance log with the fire risk assessment, ready for your insurer or an inspection.
Marden Beech kitchens: local notes
The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 3 pubs, bars and clubs across Marden Beech and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Any of them serving cooked food has an extract to keep clean, from canopy to discharge. The fire and rescue service for Marden Beech is Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk. Environmental health officers from Maidstone council inspect food businesses in Marden Beech. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. A dated certificate in the maintenance file answers the question before it’s asked.
A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St Michael and All Angels Church or elsewhere in Marden Beech, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. Bursars and site managers at schools such as Marden Primary School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty.
