What your team can do, and what needs us

Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.

If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We will take a look and give you a fixed quote.

Kitchen duct cleaning in Boldre

Think of it as a health check for the kitchen’s airways: diagnose with a survey, treat with a thorough clean, then sign it off. The sign-off is a TR19 certificate with a photo report, issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. We are often asked to deal with a kitchen with no current TR19 certificate and proof of cleaning requested by an insurer, on canopies and hoods, horizontal duct runs and vertical risers. Some call it canopy cleaning, others extract cleaning or duct cleaning, but a proper TR19® clean in Boldre covers all of it, from the hood to the fan.

The fire risk in a kitchen extract sits in the parts nobody sees: the plenum, the duct and the fan, which is why a TR19® clean in Boldre goes well beyond the canopy.

For a kitchen in or near Boldre, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean covers the whole system, as it would anywhere: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

We have been trading since 2009, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we carry full insurance.

What we do, step by step

The first job on site is protection: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. Then we make the system safe and start. The work on site takes a few hours for a small kitchen, longer for a large system, and we clear up before we go. The timing of a visit to Boldre is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.

  1. You send photos or we visit, and the system is surveyed from canopy to discharge.
  2. We take grease readings at set points and give you a fixed quote.
  3. On the night, the equipment is off and cool and the kitchen is sheeted.
  4. Filters, canopy and plenum are cleaned, then the ducts, risers, fan and discharge.
  5. Readings are repeated, photos taken, and your TR19 certificate and photo report issued.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Let us know about parking and loading
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down

How to get a quote

There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, and then give you a fixed quote. To get going, ring 0345 646 2711, or email photos.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Where a system serves more than one tenant, such as a shared riser, it helps to agree who arranges the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit ends with a dated report and pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

What we are called out for in Boldre

We often find duct sections that haven’t been cleaned since they were installed. Most of the time it’s because there were never enough access panels, so those sections were never reached. That hidden grease keeps building where nobody looks.

Any of these means the system needs a check-up:

  • Ductwork thick with old, hardened grease
  • A smoky, hot kitchen with weak extraction
  • A kitchen with no current TR19 certificate
  • A new tenancy or takeover with no cleaning history

If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Lymington New Forest Hospital about 0.8 miles south, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether a written report and pictures are included
  • Whether the work can be done while the site is closed
  • When the next visit should be, and why
  • Proof of accreditation you can verify

Why it’s worth doing now in Boldre

If there’s a fire and the extract hasn’t been cleaned, the paperwork becomes the problem. Many policies require cleaning to TR19, and an insurer can refuse or reduce a claim without proof. A certificate in the file answers that question. Our emergency line runs 24/7, but a planned visit to Boldre is calmer for everyone.

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Build-up, wear and faults tend to get worse, not better, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you’re unsure, call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email for straight advice and a fixed quote.

Why book with us

  • Evenings, overnight and weekends, plus 24/7 emergency callout
  • Full insurance on every job
  • Ventilation hygiene specialists since 2009
  • One number for every site across the South East and London

How the job changes from site to site

Schools, hospitals and care homes

In a care home or hospital, the kitchen may cook every day of the year. Cleans are planned between meals or overnight, so residents and patients are not disturbed.

Ductwork and risers

Long flat runs of duct are where grease collects. Each run is cleaned through its access panels, recording any that cannot be reached.

Boldre kitchens: local notes

At about 2 miles from the coast, Boldre is close enough for sea air to matter. Corrosion on the fan housing and cowl is worth a look at every clean, alongside the grease. Food Standards Agency records include about 17 pubs and bars and about 4 hotels and guest houses across Boldre and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. Fire safety in Boldre falls to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract.

School kitchens, at schools like William Gilpin Church of England Primary School for example, are normally cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost. A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Saint Nicholas Chapel or elsewhere in Boldre, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.

Boldre: your questions answered

Can you get to a site in Boldre?

Yes, Boldre is part of our area, however small the site. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Does coastal air change anything about kitchen extract cleaning in Boldre?

It can, as Boldre is within about 2 miles of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on metal. Rooftop fans, discharge cowls and fixings are checked for corrosion as well as grease.

Are you accredited for kitchen extract cleaning?

We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 sit alongside that, and we are fully insured.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, to suit the system and how it’s used.

What do you do with what you remove?

It leaves the site with us when we go. While we work, it’s kept contained so the area stays clean.

What does TR19 mean?

BESA’s ventilation hygiene specification, with two parts that matter most here: TR19® Grease for kitchen extract systems and TR19® Air for general ventilation. It is not legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.

How long will the clean take?

Allow a single shift for most kitchens, with long duct runs and tall risers needing more time. The survey tells us how long your system will need.

What do I get after the clean?

A TR19 certificate and a photo report. The certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, and the report includes before and after photos, grease readings and the recommended next clean date.

What affects the quote in Boldre

You will get a fixed price before any work starts. It takes into account:

  • What state the system is in
  • Parking and loading at the site
  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • The times the site is available

One small site or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. You’ll have a fixed price before any work starts.

Asking for a quote

We can often survey from pictures. Try to include:

  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is
  • A few general shots of the system
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall

Need a price for kitchen extract cleaning? Please call us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and tell us about the site. We will talk you through the work and send you a fixed quote before you commit to anything.
