Grease trap cleaning for kitchens and businesses in St Ann's Green
A grease trap is the kitchen drain’s first line of protection. When it’s looked after, you hardly know it’s there but left too long, it causes trouble. A regular clean keeps it healthy. Typical jobs include an inline trap or interceptor due for cleaning and an under-sink unit that needs regular emptying, on inline grease traps, pot wash sinks and restaurants and takeaways.
In a village or hamlet like St Ann's Green, commercial kitchens are few, perhaps a pub, a school or a care home. Wherever there is one, it needs its grease trap and hard-to-reach areas kept clean.
We’re CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we are fully insured. On top of that, we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

Wherever they wash pans and plates, fat heads for the drain unless a trap catches it. In St Ann's Green, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Maidstone council. The state of floors, drains and hard-to-reach corners all feeds into the inspection. Keeping a record of deep cleans and grease trap visits helps at inspection time.

Different parts, different methods
School, care home and staff kitchens
In schools, grease traps can be cleaned when the kitchen is closed or between meal services.
Grease interceptors
Interceptors separate grease the same way, on a larger scale. Cooling water lets grease rise and solids settle.
Managing agents and facilities teams in St Ann's Green
If you look after several sites, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Each site gets its own report and photos, so records stay tidy.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Keeping the system healthy
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Do not rely on hot water to clear grease
- Keep the grease trap on a regular cleaning schedule
- Tell us when sinks start draining slowly
- Keep strainers in every sink
If we spot problems beyond the trap, such as a drain that still runs slowly, we will tell you. That may need a drainage contractor to look further.
A fixed cleaning interval means the trap never gets overfull. The interval is set to suit the trap and the kitchen.
What your team can do, and what needs us
Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.
Your questions about grease trap cleaning in St Ann's Green
Is St Ann's Green within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Do you work in school kitchens around St Ann's Green out of term?
Yes. Half-terms and the summer break are the natural time for school work. With about 3 schools and colleges on the FSA’s register within roughly a mile and a half of St Ann's Green, it pays to plan holiday dates ahead. Send us your term dates when you call us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, and we will fit the work in.
What about areas you cannot get to?
We never leave them off the paperwork. You’ll know exactly which parts weren’t reached and why, along with a quote to put access in.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, depending on what the system needs.
Why does a grease trap need regular cleaning?
Grease and food waste build up until the trap stops working. The result is slow drains, foul odours and eventually a blockage.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes, 24/7. Our office is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, and the emergency line covers the rest.
Do I get a report after the visit?
Yes. It’s the record insurers and inspectors ask to see: a dated report with photos, listing the work and any areas we couldn’t reach.
What accreditations do you have?
BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We’re fully insured and have been trading since 2009.
The process
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap, and we clear up before we go. We agree a date with you, plan the drive to St Ann's Green and turn up when the site is quiet.
- We locate the trap and check how it’s fitted.
- Sinks feeding the trap are taken out of use.
- We empty out the fat, oil, grease and solids.
- We clean every part of the inside.
- The trap is refitted, tested with water and the waste taken away.
How to prepare
- Let us know about parking and loading
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Find the previous report, if there is one
Getting a quote
Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Call or email with a few details and you will usually have a fixed price within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

How we price grease trap cleaning
Your quote is based on your site. We take into account:
- Travel, parking and unloading
- The condition of the system
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- The number of sites or systems
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is all affect the cost. We take each of them into account, and the price is fixed before any work starts.
Helping us quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. With your enquiry, please include:
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- A few general shots of the system
There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To get going, call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.
