Grease trap cleaning near Hale Street

What the work involves, part by part

School, care home and staff kitchens

School kitchens can be cleaned in the holidays or between meal services.

Inline grease traps

Inline traps often take waste from several sinks or appliances. That means more grease, so regular cleaning matters.

How we handle grease trap cleaning in Hale Street

For kitchens across Hale Street, grease trap cleaning fits easily around service. We empty, clean and check the trap and remove the waste. It can be booked on its own or alongside other kitchen work. The work covers inline grease traps, school and care home kitchens and pot wash sinks, and people most often call us about a kitchen drain that smells and gurgling drains in the kitchen.

Work in a small place like Hale Street starts with agreeing a date and access, and the deep clean is the same as anywhere: walls, floors, ceilings and equipment.

Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured. On top of that, we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we have been trading since 2009.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Hale Street

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too in Hale Street and across Kent. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

Landlords, managing agents and facilities managers book us, not only the businesses that use the systems. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

Questions from Hale Street

Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Hale Street?

The local authority for Hale Street is Tonbridge and Malling council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. An officer may look behind equipment and at drains, so it pays to have the deep clean booked before those areas build up.

Is Hale Street within the area you cover?

Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Hale Street included. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

What do you do with the waste?

The fat, oil, grease and solids we remove go with us. None of it goes back into the drains at any point.

Will the grease trap clean disrupt the kitchen?

The sinks that drain into the trap can’t be used while it’s open. We book the visit around your service to keep disruption down.

Will you tell us when the next visit is due?

Yes. Every report includes a recommended date for the next visit, based on what we found and how the system is used.

How often should a grease trap be cleaned?

The right interval depends on your trap and your cooking. If the sinks start to drain slowly between cleans, it’s too long, and we can shorten it.

How long does a grease trap clean take?

Each trap is a little different, and you can expect it to take an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap. We’ll confirm when we quote.

What is TR19?

TR19® is BESA’s specification for ventilation hygiene. Since 2019, TR19® Grease has been a standalone specification for grease in kitchen extract systems, while TR19® Air covers other supply and extract ductwork.

What happens on the day

Every visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, make the system safe, carry out the grease trap cleaning, clear away and hand over the paperwork. The visit itself takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. We agree a date with you, plan the drive to Hale Street and turn up when the site is quiet.

  1. We find the trap and check how it’s connected.
  2. The sinks feeding the trap are kept out of use while we work.
  3. We take out the layer of fat, oil and grease and any solids.
  4. Every part of the trap is scraped and cleaned, including the baffles.
  5. We put it back together, run water through and remove the waste.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need

Ask for a quote

Here’s what helps us quote: where the site is, what it is and its opening hours, photos of the system and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Once you have those, call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.

Advice

How we price grease trap cleaning

The diagnosis comes before the price. The main factors are:

  • Parking and loading at the site
  • The condition of the system
  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, which can make the next visit longer. If you are unsure, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you an honest view and a fixed quote.

Helping us quote

To speed up the quote, send us:

  • How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Wide photos of the system and the area around it
  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either from pictures and details you send or from a site visit. After that, you get a fixed price for the work, before any work starts.

What your team can do, and what needs us

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. What they can’t safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that’s where we come in.

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Commercial kitchens in Hale Street

The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 4 pubs and bars within about 1.5 miles of central Hale Street. Pub and hotel kitchens get the same build-up behind equipment and in the grease trap as any other. Kitchens in Hale Street get their food hygiene inspections from Tonbridge and Malling council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. Keeping a record of deep cleans and grease trap visits helps at inspection time.

For a café close to Yalding station, a deep clean can be done between closing and the morning rush. Hall kitchens near Church of the Holy Trinity or elsewhere in Hale Street may have older sinks and drains, so a grease trap check is worth adding to a deep clean. What a clean will not put right

We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work cannot put right:

  • Collapsed or damaged drains, which need a drainage contractor
  • A grease trap that is too small for the kitchen
  • Drains that need jetting rather than trap cleaning

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will tell you honestly.

Where we work

  • Inline grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • School and care home kitchens
  • Pot wash sinks
  • Restaurants and takeaways

Aftercare tips

Once we have finished, these simple steps help:

  • Keep waste oil out of the drains
  • Make sure the trap can be reached easily
  • Wipe grease off pans before washing them
  • Report slow or smelly sinks early

Between cleans, keep food scraps out of the sink. Use strainers in the sink plugholes before they reach the trap.

A trap that’s left too long stops catching grease. Cleaning it before it’s full keeps grease out of the drains and avoids a blockage.
