How the job changes from site to site
Baffles and outlets
Clean water leaves through the outlet. A blocked outlet stops the trap working.
Grease interceptors
Interceptors take longer to clean and we plan the visit accordingly.
Grease trap cleaning in Gill's Green
Once a trap is full, grease passes straight through. Further down the pipe, the grease cools and hardens, leading to slow drains, blockages and smells. A trap that’s cleaned regularly keeps grease where it belongs. If you have gurgling from the sink waste and a kitchen drain that smells, we can help, from inline grease traps, restaurants and takeaways and under-sink grease traps onwards.
Rural kitchens may drain to a septic tank or a private drain rather than straight into a public sewer, so keeping fat out with a working grease trap matters even more.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with pictures of the work, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Keeping the system healthy
Results last longer with the right care. We suggest:
- Book trap cleans at a set interval
- Keep strainers in every sink
- Make sure the trap can be reached easily
- Get food waste into the bin, not the sink
We take the grease and solids away. Nothing is left for you to dispose of after the visit.
A fixed cleaning interval means the trap never gets overfull. We agree the timing with you.
When something else is needed
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- A leaking sink waste or trap connection
- A grease trap that’s too small for the kitchen
- Broken pipework below ground
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will tell you honestly before you book.

For landlords and multi-site operators
When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We’re happy to deal with either side and send the paperwork to whoever needs it.
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We work across London and the South East, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.
Why it’s worth doing now in Gill's Green
A full grease trap lets grease through to the drains. There it sets and narrows the pipe until water can’t get through. Cleaning the trap regularly is far easier than clearing a blocked drain. With notice, the visit to Gill's Green can be fitted around your bookings and events.
Every site is different, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all make a difference.

The process
We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes anything from under an hour to a few hours, depending on the trap. Visits to a village like Gill's Green are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.
- We locate the trap and check how it’s fitted.
- We make sure nothing drains into the trap.
- Grease and solids are removed from the trap.
- The chambers and baffles are cleaned.
- The trap is refitted, tested with water and the waste taken away.
How to prepare
- Clear the space around the work
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system

Advice
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but they don’t reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and tidy surfaces slow the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Common questions in Gill's Green

Not usually. We need the work area to ourselves while we’re on site, so the visit goes in a quiet slot.
What if parts of the system cannot be reached?
We record them on the report, with a note of where it is, and we tell you what would make it reachable, such as extra access panels in ductwork.
