Grease trap cleaning in Easthorpe
If the sinks drain slowly or smell, the trap is often the cause. In Easthorpe, as everywhere we work, our team empties and cleans the trap, then check the water flows properly. If you have foul odours from the grease trap and washing-up water that won’t drain away, we can put it right, from inline grease traps, pot wash sinks and restaurants and takeaways onwards.
Work in a small place like Easthorpe starts with agreeing a date and access.
We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

Why deal with it now?
In Easthorpe, as anywhere, grease trap cleaning is a short, routine visit. A blocked drain is an emergency and typically at the worst moment. It’s simpler to plan the work at Easthorpe now than to arrange it in a hurry later.
You won’t find a price list here, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll talk you through it.
What you get with us
- Fully insured
- Photo reports with every job
- CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, with ISO 9001
- Out-of-hours work and a 24/7 emergency line
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.
Signs you need grease trap cleaning in Easthorpe
Every pan and plate washed sends grease towards the drain. In the trap, they cool and separate and the grease layer grows.
What we are most often called out for:
- Drains clogged with fat
- An overdue grease trap
- A kitchen drain that smells
- An under-sink trap that keeps filling up
If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Essex County Hospital about 5.3 miles east, deep cleans and grease trap visits are planned so meals still go out.

Commercial kitchens in Easthorpe
Food Standards Agency records list about 3 restaurants, cafés and canteens in and around Easthorpe, up to about a mile and a half out. Kitchens like these wash fat, oil and grease down the sink every day, and a grease trap is what stops it reaching the sewer. Easthorpe is about 45 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. The visit is fixed around your opening hours, not ours. Kitchens in Easthorpe get their food hygiene inspections from Colchester council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. A cleaning log that includes deep cleans and grease trap visits shows the work is planned.
Hall kitchens near Church of St Mary or elsewhere in Easthorpe may have older sinks and drains, so a grease trap check is worth adding to a deep clean. Layer Marney Tower, about 2.7 miles south, is one of the historic houses around Easthorpe; event kitchens at places like that work in bursts, so a deep clean after a busy season helps.

When something else is needed
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- A leaking sink waste or trap connection
- A unit that cannot cope with the kitchen’s output
- Blockages in the public sewer beyond the property
If in doubt, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will say what we think.
Where we work
- Under-sink grease traps
- Pot wash sinks
- Kitchen waste pipes
- Restaurants and takeaways
- School and care home kitchens
- Inline grease traps
Part by part
Baffles and outlets
Every clean includes the baffles, inlet and outlet so water flows freely.
Inline grease traps
An inline trap sits in the pipework between the kitchen and the drain. They hold more than under-sink units but still need regular emptying.
Questions from Easthorpe
Can you work in Easthorpe outside opening hours?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. That way a site in Easthorpe doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.
Will you come out to Easthorpe?
Yes, Easthorpe is part of our area, however small the site. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Do you clean under-sink and inline grease traps?
We clean all the common types. If you are not sure what you have, send us a photo and we’ll confirm.
What do you do to protect the area?
By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and clean down when we finish.
Do we need to close while you work?
Not typically. The area we’re working in has to be out of use while we are there, so we book a time when it would be closed anyway.
Which accreditations do you hold?
We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, alongside BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. Vent Hygiene Elite is run by BESCA and independently audited.
Do you take the waste away?
We take the grease and solids away with us. You’re not left with anything to dispose of after the visit.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. One number covers all your sites across London and the South East, with visits on a regular schedule.

What else we do in Easthorpe
How the visit works
We work around your opening hours, not the other way round. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the work takes an hour or two in most kitchens, depending on the size and condition of the trap. If you can send photos, we can arrive in Easthorpe knowing what to expect.
- First, we locate the grease trap and look at the pipework around it.
- We ask for the sinks that drain into the trap not to be used.
- Built-up fat, oil and grease is removed from the trap.
- Every part of the trap is scraped and cleaned, including the baffles.
- Once it’s refitted, water is run through to check it drains, and we take the waste with us.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Find the previous report, if there is one
- Clear loose items from the work area
Get a fixed quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers
If you look after several sites, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Essex. Larger estates can be phased building by building to keep disruption down.
