Grease trap cleaning for sites in Broad Ford

How we handle grease trap cleaning in Broad Ford

In Broad Ford, we time grease trap visits so the sinks are not needed. The trap is emptied, cleaned and checked and remove the waste. It works on its own or with a deep clean or extract clean. The work covers kitchen waste pipes, pot wash sinks and inline grease traps, and common reasons people get in touch are an interceptor full of grease and solids and an under-sink trap that keeps filling up.

Somewhere as small as Broad Ford, the kitchens that need a deep clean are usually a pub, a school, a care home or a hall kitchen, wherever there is one. Each still needs the occasional deep clean and its grease trap kept clear.

It’s worth checking any contractor’s accreditations. We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

Multi-site and managed buildings

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we’re happy to quote for all of it.

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.

Keeping a record of deep cleans and grease trap visits helps at inspection time.

Half-term is a good time for school kitchens, at schools like Horsmonden Primary School for instance, to have the grease trap emptied and the kitchen deep cleaned. Scotney Castle, about 3.1 miles south-west, is one of the historic houses around Broad Ford; event kitchens at places like that work in bursts, so a deep clean after a busy season helps.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Staff cleaning doesn’t replace a specialist visit; it supports it. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

When to call us in Broad Ford

A full trap can’t hold any more grease. It then builds up in the drains and the sewer beyond, where it can form blockages.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Drains that gurgle and bubble
  • A bad smell from the sinks or drains
  • A blocked kitchen drain caused by grease
  • A regular cleaning plan for the grease trap

If you look after a hall kitchen near Church of St Margaret or anywhere in Broad Ford, a deep clean between busy seasons is easier than a scramble before a big event.

FAQs for Broad Ford

Do you work at weekends in Broad Ford?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. That way a site in Broad Ford doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Do you work in villages like Broad Ford?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

Protection goes down first: floor sheeting and covers over nearby surfaces and equipment. We tidy up and take our waste away before we leave.

Do you provide a certificate or report?

Yes, on every job. The report is dated and includes photos, plus a certificate via the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal for TR19® Grease cleans. Keep it in your maintenance log.

Which kinds of sites do you work on?

We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, plus food production and leisure sites.

Why does a grease trap need regular cleaning?

A full trap can’t catch any more grease. It then sets in the drains, causing blockages and smells, and can add to fatbergs in the sewer.

Are you accredited?

BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We are fully insured and have been trading since 2009.

How much does grease trap cleaning cost?

We price it once we know the trap and how often it needs cleaning. Get in touch and we’ll give you a fixed quote so you know the cost up front.

What happens on the day

Each visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, isolate whatever needs isolating, carry out the grease trap cleaning, tidy up and leave you the report. The visit itself takes a short visit for a small trap and longer for an inline unit or interceptor. A quick note on how to find the site and where to park makes a visit to Broad Ford run smoothly.

  1. First, we locate the grease trap and look at the pipework around it.
  2. Nothing drains into the trap while it’s open.
  3. We take out the layer of fat, oil and grease and any solids.
  4. The inside, baffles and pipe connections are cleaned.
  5. We put it back together, run water through and remove the waste.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use

Ask for a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple, and it makes the next visit easier:

  • Avoid pouring boiling water down to shift grease
  • Collect waste cooking oil separately
  • Scrape plates and pans into the bin before washing up
  • Act on gurgling or smelly drains

Anything we notice beyond the trap, like a slow drain downstream, is pointed out. It may need a drainage specialist to investigate.

More cooking means more grease in the trap. Shortening the cleaning interval now keeps the drains flowing.

When something else is needed

We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work cannot put right:

  • Plumbing leaks around the sink
  • Blockages in the public sewer beyond the property
  • A grease trap that’s too small for the kitchen

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we’ll tell you honestly.

Parts of the system we cover

  • Pot wash sinks
  • School and care home kitchens
  • Inline grease traps
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Restaurants and takeaways

How the job changes from site to site

Restaurant and takeaway kitchens

Busy kitchens cannot afford a blocked drain. Regular trap cleaning helps prevent it.

School, care home and staff kitchens

School kitchens can be cleaned in the holidays or between meal services.
