Grease filter exchange in North Heath, West Berkshire
Grease filter exchange for commercial sites in North Heath and across West Berkshire. BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease.
- Filters left unwashed on busy weeks
- Grease dripping from the canopy
- Missing filters in the filter bank
How we handle grease filter exchange in North Heath
Filter exchange sits between full TR19® cleans. Clean filters reduce the grease reaching the ducts, but some grease still passes through as vapour. That is why the whole system still needs cleaning to TR19 at the right interval. The work covers mesh filters, baffle filters and island canopies, and the jobs we see most are grease left in baffles after washing and poor airflow through the filters.
For a kitchen in or near North Heath, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.
The paperwork matters as much as the work. Each visit is written up with pictures, listing what was done, anything we couldn’t reach and when the next visit is due. Keep it with your fire safety records so it’s to hand when an insurer or inspector asks.

How we price grease filter exchange
You will get a fixed price before any work starts. It’s based on:
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- The size of the system
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- The number of sites or systems
A single site or a whole portfolio, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. The price is fixed before we start.
What to send for a quote
What to send for a quote:
- The site address and the type of premises
- Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- Your last certificate, test record or report
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
Why act early in North Heath
Grease-loaded filters are a fire risk in their own right. A flare-up on the range can reach them, and from there into the duct. Clean filters mean less fuel in the canopy. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.
You won’t find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we will talk you through it.
Why us?
- Trading since 2009
- Fixed quotes from a survey or pictures
- We diagnose before we treat
- CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001
Managing agents and facilities teams in North Heath
We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Where a system serves more than one tenant, such as a shared riser, it helps to agree who arranges the work, and we can quote for the whole system.
Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.
When something else is needed
Grease filter exchange cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It doesn’t solve:
- Grease already built up in the ductwork, which needs a full TR19 clean
- A heavily greased plenum or canopy, which needs cleaning to TR19
- Smell complaints that need odour control equipment
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we will say what we think before you book.
What the work covers
- Island canopies
- School and hospital kitchens
- Wall canopies
- Restaurants and pubs
- Mesh filters
- Baffle filters
How the visit works
We work around your opening hours, not the other way round. We book the visit for a time the area is closed, whether that’s an evening, overnight or a weekend. When the team arrives, the work area is protected and the relevant equipment is switched off to cool, and the job takes less than an hour in most kitchens. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to North Heath.
- The filters in each canopy are measured and counted.
- An exchange schedule is agreed to suit your cooking.
- On each visit, we remove the greasy filters.
- Clean filters go in and we check they sit snugly.
- The dirty filters leave with us and the next visit is booked.
How to prepare
- Mention any parking or loading restrictions
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
- Move anything stored near the system
Ask for a quote
Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Send a few details and photos, and we normally reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.
Advice
Do you need grease filter exchange in North Heath?
Hand-washed filters often come back still greasy. Grease lodges deep in baffles and mesh, and a quick rinse leaves it there.
Most sites get in touch after spotting something like this:
- Grease filters clogged with grease
- Smoke and heat lingering under the hood
- Hand-washed filters that still look greasy
- Grease dripping from the canopy
Where a hall near Church of St Mary, or anywhere in North Heath, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.
What to look for in a quote
- Proof of insurance
- Whether a written report and photos are included
- Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
- When they can work, and whether that’s outside your opening hours
Keeping the system healthy
So the system stays in good health:
- Never leave gaps in the filter bank
- Clear anything stored on or near the canopy
- Tell us if a filter is bent or damaged
- Keep the extract on whenever the range is in use
Your next visit is scheduled before we leave. If cooking increases, we can change filters more often to match.
If cooking has stepped up, the filter schedule should too. Changing the interval early stops grease building up unseen behind the canopy.

Are you fully insured?

Is TR19 a legal requirement?
No. TR19® itself is not law; it’s a BESA specification. The law is the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which makes the responsible person assess and reduce fire risk, and cleaning to TR19® is the recognised way to show grease is under control.
Who has the legal duty for fire safety?
The law calls them the responsible person. That’s generally the employer or the person in control of the premises, and where several people have control, each can have duties. Your lease and fire risk assessment should make it clear.
