Grease filter exchange in Boughton Aluph

Think of filter exchange as routine care for the extract. It keeps airflow up and grease down between full cleans, and it saves your staff a greasy job. The full TR19 clean then gives the system its clean bill of health. If you are dealing with grease filters clogged with grease and grease dripping from the canopy, we can help.

For a kitchen in or near Boughton Aluph, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean covers the whole system, as it would anywhere: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. So every job comes with a written report and photos, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. With shared responsibility, good records help everyone.

We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Kent. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

Different parts, different methods

Mesh filters

Mesh filters use layers of metal mesh to trap grease. In a busy kitchen, mesh soon blocks and need frequent attention.

Busy restaurant and pub kitchens

When service is non-stop, filters get forgotten. An exchange service takes it off the rota.

Leave it or put it right?

In Boughton Aluph, as everywhere, a filter service is not a substitute for TR19 cleaning. They do help keep the system in better shape between cleans and the canopy and plenum stay cleaner. Our emergency line runs 24/7, but a planned visit to Boughton Aluph is calmer for everyone.

You won’t find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. For a fixed quote, call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, and we’ll explain what it covers.

Signs you need grease filter exchange in Boughton Aluph

Missing filters are more common than you’d think. Every gap in the filter bank lets grease straight into the plenum and on into the ductwork.

It’s time to book a visit if you see:

  • Poor airflow through the filters
  • Blocked baffle filters
  • Filters that come out of the sink still dirty
  • Gaps where filters have been removed

If you look after a school kitchen, at a school such as Wye School or anywhere near Boughton Aluph, the holidays are the usual time for a TR19® clean.

What to look for in a quote

  • What hours they’ll be on site
  • If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate
  • What paperwork you get at the end
  • Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach

Breakfasts, bar meals and functions all put grease into the extract wherever they’re cooked. Food hygiene inspections in Boughton Aluph are the job of Ashford council’s environmental health team. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. Keeping each certificate and photo report on file helps show the extract is looked after. How we price grease filter exchange

You will get a fixed price before any work starts. It takes into account:

  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • Travel, parking and unloading
  • Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
  • The number of sites or systems

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

What to send for a quote

You do not need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:

  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
  • Any previous report or certificate
  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use

Some systems can be priced from photos; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.

What staff can safely do

If your staff spot something between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We can diagnose it and quote.

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you can’t see still need a specialist at the right interval.

Boughton Aluph questions

Do you work at weekends in Boughton Aluph?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. That way a site in Boughton Aluph doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Do you cover smaller places like Boughton Aluph?

Yes. Boughton Aluph is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Photos of the system and directions to the site help us plan the visit.

What about areas you can’t get to?

We record them on the report, with pictures where possible, and we explain what access is needed, for example new access panels.

Can you clean our existing filters instead?

We offer filter cleaning as well as exchange. We’ll explain the options when we quote.

Who has the legal duty for fire safety?

The Fire Safety Order 2005 calls them the responsible person: often the employer, owner or occupier. Landlords, facilities managers and managing agents can also hold responsibility.

How much notice do you need?

The more notice, the better, particularly for night and weekend visits. We typically quote within one working day, and there’s a 24/7 line for emergencies.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. We always survey first, either from photos and details you send or on a site visit. A fixed quote follows.

Do we lose a day’s trading?

Not normally. Out-of-hours visits keep the disruption down. Larger jobs can be phased over several visits to keep things running.

The process

Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and the same goes into the written report. The visit takes a short visit, depending on how many filters the canopies hold. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in Boughton Aluph before we set off.

  1. We count and measure the filters in every canopy.
  2. Together we set how often the filters should be changed.
  3. On each visit, the dirty filters come out of the canopy.
  4. Clean, dry filters are fitted in their place, with no gaps left between them.
  5. If a filter is damaged or the plenum needs attention, we tell you.

How to prepare

  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
  • Clear the space around the work

How to get a quote

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from your photos and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. After that, you get a fixed price for the work so you know the cost before we start.
