Extract fan cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Bryant's Bottom
Not all extract fans are the same: fans on the roof, fans built into the duct run, and fans on an outside wall. The way in depends on the type and the survey shows us how to reach it. The work covers axial fans, centrifugal fans and in-line fans, and people most often call us about fat spreading onto the roof or wall by the fan and vibration from an unbalanced impeller.
Work in a small place like Bryant's Bottom starts with a call to agree access and timings, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.
We’ve been trading since 2009, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

Questions from Bryant's Bottom
Can you work in Bryant's Bottom outside opening hours?
Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. Your customers, staff or residents in Bryant's Bottom needn’t be disturbed. Just call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.
Do you cover smaller places like Bryant's Bottom?
Yes, we work in villages as well as towns, and Bryant's Bottom is covered. A survey first, from photos or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.
What makes a kitchen extract fan vibrate?
An unbalanced impeller, normally from uneven grease, is a common cause. After cleaning, we’ll tell you if wear or damage is also involved.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. Scheduled maintenance plans are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.
What’s the cleaning interval for an extract fan?
Daily cooking hours set the minimum, under BESA guidance. At the extremes, that’s 3-monthly for heavy use and 12-monthly for light use, fan included.
What does TR19 mean?
TR19® is BESA’s specification for ventilation hygiene. Since 2019, TR19® Grease has been a standalone specification for grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes. Every job is surveyed first, either from pictures and details you send or on a site visit. Then you get a fixed quote.
How long will it take to clean the fan?
Allow an hour or two for most single fans. We’ll confirm the time when we quote.
When something else is needed
We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so here are the limits:
- A dirty duct upstream of the fan
- Wiring faults to the fan
- Damaged fan blades
Not sure which it is? You can phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll tell you honestly.
What the work covers
- Roof-mounted fans
- Discharge points
- Axial fans
- Fan housings
- Centrifugal fans
- In-line fans
The process
Your trading hours come first. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the work takes a couple of hours per fan, depending on its size and the build-up. Somewhere like Bryant's Bottom, lanes, gates and parking are worth mentioning in advance.
- First we locate the fan and agree how it’s safely isolated.
- Power to the fan is isolated before anyone touches it.
- The impeller and the housing around it are scraped clean.
- The fan and its surrounds are degreased, keeping clear of the motor’s electrics.
- We reassemble, run the fan and photograph the result.
How to prepare
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Arrange a key holder or contact on site
- Clear loose items from the work area
Getting a quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
Advice
Keeping the system healthy
To keep the system working properly between visits:
- Book the fan into every full TR19 clean
- Report rattles or humming early
- Tell us if the extract feels weaker
- Keep access to the fan clear
Once it’s clean, the fan is closed up and run to check it’s working smoothly. If anything seems wrong, from vibration to wear, we note it, so you can plan any repair.
Keep the whole system on its cleaning cycle. Regular full cleans keep the fan from building up heavy deposits, in line with BESA guidance.
Do you need extract fan cleaning in Bryant's Bottom?
A fan collects more grease when the filters let more through. Missing, damaged or badly fitted filters let grease travel the whole system, so the fan takes far more than it should.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Grease around the motor and its mounts
- Grease escaping from the fan outlet
- Hot, greasy smells near the fan
- A fan left out of previous cleans
Older buildings often hide long, awkward duct runs, and if you run a kitchen at a historic venue in the area (Hughenden Manor is about 2.8 miles south), access may need planning.

Fixed quotes for extract fan cleaning in Bryant's Bottom
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Site rules, permits and inductions
- Travel, parking and unloading
- The number of sites or systems
- Working hours and out-of-hours timing
Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Call for a fixed quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Asking for a quote
You don’t need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
- Any previous report or certificate
- The site address and the type of premises
- A few general shots of the system
To help us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, photos of the system and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Once you have those, call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.
How the job changes from site to site
Fan housings and motors
Inside the casing, grease is thrown onto the walls. It’s scraped and degreased with the impeller.
Inline duct fans
Space around an inline fan can be tight, so we plan how to reach and clean them. If it can’t be reached fully, the report says so.
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
If your staff spot something between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We will take a look and send you a fixed quote.
